LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In 'OMG Fashun' Episode 2, Padina Bondar-Gibbs emerged as the winner, impressing the judges with her innovative approach to upcycling plastic trash into fashion. The episode featured three disruptors: Breanna Billiter, Padina Bondar-Gibbs, and Brittany Schall. However, it was Padina who ultimately clinched the victory with her unique and sustainable designs.

The episode centered around Julia Fox's mission to combat fast fashion and promote sustainability in the fashion industry. To achieve this goal, the disruptors were tasked with creating runway-worthy looks using unexpected materials, particularly focusing on upcycling plastic trash. This challenge pushed the designers to think creatively and repurpose discarded items into high-fashion garments.

Padina Bondar-Gibbs was given tampons to upcycle on 'OMG Fashun' 

On 'OMG Fashun', Padina Bondar-Gibbs faced the challenge of upcycling tampons, among other materials, into a fashion-forward creation. In addition to tampons, Padina had access to a variety of unconventional materials, including straws, bubble wrap, and scrap fabrics. Her task was to transform these items, typically discarded as waste, into wearable art pieces.

Despite the unique challenge, Padina approached it with creativity and resourcefulness. She leveraged the absorbent and structural properties of tampons to incorporate them into her design. Specifically, she utilized tampons as stiff structural elements, allowing them to hold various components of her garment in place. Padina's previous experience working with tampons in structural work gave her confidence in their versatility as a design material.

In addition to tampons, Padina utilized straws for their cylindrical shape and flexibility, incorporating them into her design for added texture and visual interest. Bubble wrap, despite initially being overlooked by Padina, eventually became part of her creation, serving as inspiration for a leaf-inspired motif.

Padina Bondar-Gibbs calls working with Julia Fox and Law Roach a 'dream'

After her win, Padina shared insights with Reality Tea, shedding light on her experience on the show. Working with icons like Julia Fox, Law Roach, and Pretty Vee was a dream come true for Padina. Their warm and welcoming energy made the environment conducive to creativity, easing any intimidation she felt.

"They all made the environment welcoming and warm. They all have an amazing energy, so being a part of that was like, okay, you guys are actually calming me down. This is not intimidating," she shared. 

Padina also revealed hoe she saw 'OMG Fashun' as a trendsetting series that resonates with the younger generation's desire for passion, sustainability, and ethics in fashion. Embracing her title as a Disruptor, Padina recognized the importance of creating something unique in a world where innovation is key.
