'Super Rich in Korea': Who is still together? Seoul's super-wealthy people struggle to find love in flashy life
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: Reality television producers are fascinated by the lifestyles of the ultra-wealthy, and viewers are eager to tune in. In a new series called 'Super Rich in Korea,' five ultrarich people who live at least part-time in Seoul hang around with one another and show off their wealth.
While virtually nothing was disclosed about their romantic lives, fans are eager to uncover their current relationship status.
David Yong got upstaged by 'Super Rich in Korea' costar Teodoro Marani on a double date
David Yong, one of Singapore's wealthiest people, proudly identifies himself as 'Singapore's Top 1% super-rich. Despite his Singaporean nationality, he resides in Seoul and manages an investment firm.
Hailing from an affluent family, David owns eleven high-end vehicles and has also ventured into investments within Korea's entertainment industry.
David, despite his wealth and confidence, maintains a simple lifestyle and prefers sparkling, branded clothing with prominent logos. However, despite his affluence, he struggles with flirting with women.
In 'Super Rich in Korea,' David's friend arranges a blind date for him with Teodoro Marani, an attractive and romantic individual with impressive looks and charming abilities. Teo never misses an opportunity to flirt.
In episode four, David and Teo go on a double date. Their acquaintance introduces them to two women: Sally, a 29-year-old from Georgia living in Korea, and Hyun-Ji, a 29-year-old Korean.
David arrives late, so the two ladies meet Teo first. Teo is immediately drawn to Hyun-Ji upon first sight. After witnessing Teo's charm in action, David realizes that the women are more interested in Teo.
Despite wearing branded clothing and driving a model automobile, David fails to impress Sally and Hyun-Ji. Following the rejections, David expresses happiness for his friend Teo. It is unclear whether he is currently dating someone.
Teodoro Marani cooks a private meal for his date in 'Super Rich in Korea'
Netflix's 'Super Rich in Korea' showcases Teo alongside David. The two met at an investment meeting and formed a strong friendship.
Teo is an Italian who has lived in Seoul for more than three years. His parents hold the positions of CEOs at a premium fashion firm in Italy, with aspirations for their son to eventually take over the family business.
However, Teo aspires to pursue his aspirations, which he can accomplish in South Korea. He manages an import-export liquor company in the country and is also a professional chef.
Teo, characterized by his romantic nature, striking appearance, and charming abilities, never passes up an opportunity to flirt. In the last episode, Teo and Hyun-Ji have a romantic date, and the latter expresses her desire to meet him again. At present, it remains uncertain whether Teo and Hyun-Ji are still in a relationship.
Visa restrictions keep 'Super Rich in Korea's Kim Anna and her royal husband apart
Another cast member, Kim Anna, is still married to her husband from a noble family in Pakistan. As a result, she frequently travels between the two nations. Anna is married to Malik Muhammad Qamar Hayat Tiwana. They met via a family friend.
The couple owns both a vacation property and a manor in Pakistan. Interestingly, they even keep pet lions and tigers, a rare and unconventional choice given the restrictions in both Korea and Pakistan. Anna's family occasionally visits her holiday house in Lahore.
Qamar enjoys auto racing and, hence, has an extensive collection of cars. Additionally, the couple owns a historic 200-year-old manor in Sargodha, adding to their illustrious property portfolio. His great-grandfather was Punjab's former Premier. In his day, he would have been regarded as noble.
The lord of the manor was claimed to have presided over 32 villages in Sargodha. "I guess you could say my husband has sovereignty over those 32 villages," Anna said in her confessional.
Anna revealed in the series that Qamar faced challenges obtaining a visa to enter Korea due to his Pakistani nationality. The processing of his visa was further delayed by the pandemic.
As a result, Qamar was unable to visit Korea during the filming of the show. Consequently, he missed the opportunity to meet Anna's friends and family in Korea.
Qamar candidly shared that while he doesn't hold a traditional job, he takes pride in managing his farm. "I'm unemployed. That is not factually incorrect." Qamar felt fortunate because Anna knew nothing about his family before meeting him and "loved me for who I was."
In reality, Anna volunteered to take care of Qamar and assured him not to worry about financial matters. She even promised to purchase him a property in Korea, since she believed he was "unemployed." As per Anna's Instagram postings, it doesn't seem like Qamar has made it to Korea yet.
