Netflix is expanding its platform globally and starting to produce more and more fresh content from different parts of the world. After the global shows 'Money Heist' and 'Squid Game' received worldwide accalim, the streaming giant has set its sights on the Middle East. Some of the popular shows from this region include 'Dubai Bling', Alkhallat+ and The Exchange.
'The Exchange' is a six-episode Netflix series from Kuwaiti series that stars Rawan Mahdi as one of the leads. This series is said to be inspired by real events. The official synopsis from Netflix reads, "If you make no enemies while trading during the peak of Kuwait’s stock exchange, then you’ve had no fun — just ask the only women in the pit. Hair permed, shoulders padded, ever-competitive mathlete cousins Farida and Munira are here to bring a new order to Kuwait’s chaotic stock exchange. Welcome to 80s Kuwait.. the heyday of the stock market. Two Kuwaiti women are about to blaze a trail to become "Wonders of The Exchange", in a male-dominated workplace, where bets are bold, and stakes are sky-high!" The series is set to release on Netflix on February 8.

Who is Rawan Mahdi?
Mahdi is a well-known Kuwaiti actress. Born on September 17, 1992, in Kuwait, she is also known as Ray. Her father's name is Mahdi al-Sayegh. Ther eis very little known about her personal, which she keeps under wraps. The only glimpses of her life that fans get are from her social media posts, which are mostly be about her upcoming projects or work. This also goes for her relationship status, which she has not revealed to the public. From her posts, it is evident that she is a horse lover and enjoys horse riding. On 'The Exchange', she will play Farida, a recent divorcee who joins a workplace for the first time in 13 years and wants to provide for her daughter.

Mahdi has appeared in many movies including like 'Ateej' (2016), 'Hamah' (2017) and a short film titled 'Kombars' (2018). She has also donned many roles in TV shows including as Na'asa in 'Dofaat Beirut' (2020-), Carmen in 'Qariat El Fingan' (2021) and Ascia in 'Mohamed Ali Road 2' (2022). She has also been a part of a TV mini-series titled 'Lady of the Darkness' (2022). Mahdi has also played a part in Netflix's first Kuwaiti series 'The Cage' (2022). 'The Cage' is a romantic dramedy. According to Netflix, 'The Cage' follows the story of a marriage counsellor, who tries to dissuade his warring clients from getting a divorce while solving his own romantic problems.
