'Avengers: Doomsday' is finally picking up the pace of its promotion for the impending release date of December 18, 2026. Following in the footsteps of the two previously released teasers featuring Captain America caring for his son and Thor beside his adopted daughter, Love, the leaked third teaser has finally found its way online. The third teaser, according to Forbes, features the X-Men and hints at their involvement in the upcoming Marvel tentpole. Although the teaser was unveiled exclusively in theatres, fans of the franchise were quick to capture it on their phones, and the resulting low-quality video has been making the rounds while Marvel and Disney try their best to pull them down with copyright claims.

The teaser has been edited with expediency in mind. On one hand, the teaser focuses on an ongoing chess game between Ian McKellen's Magneto and Professor X/Charles Xavier, played by Sir Patrick Stewart, as reported by IGN. Magneto is missing his battle attire, and the professor is nowhere near his dear yellow chair. Nevertheless, Xavier is seen sporting a blue X-Men jacket with the instantly recognizable red-and. The overall impression is that Marvel took its cue from the '90s version of the X-Men. Moreover, Magneto is seen flaunting an untidy appearance, complete with untamed hair and a beard.

As the teaser progresses, Magneto is heard saying the following in the voice-over track, "Death comes for us all, that's all I know for sure. The question isn't are you prepared to die, the question is who would you be when you close your eyes.” From the looks of it, it does appear that the teaser situates itself within Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, more commonly known as the X-Mansion. The high point of the teaser arrives when James Marsden's Cyclops is seen kneeling, surrounded by mutant-hunting sentinels.

Cyclops is seen without his visor and blasts an intense and red-hot ray of optic blast through his eyes, possibly in a last-ditch attempt to survive a long-drawn battle. ComicBookMovie has reiterated that much of the fanfare surrounding the recently released teaser has pointed to the possibility of the X-Men sustaining major reversals in a pitched battle that is speculated to take place in the X-Mansion in 'Avengers: Doomsday'. Elsewhere, Doctor Doom's sinister hand is further speculated to control the sentinels. This could potentially explain the reason why not all the mutants will be featured in the upcoming movie.

'Avengers: Doomsday' has brought together a phenomenal cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Florence Pugh, Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, James Marsden, Lewis Pullman, Rebecca Romijn, Sebastian Stan, Ian McKellen, Tom Hiddleston, and David Harbour, among others. 'Avengers: Doomsday' releases on December 18, 2026, and 'Avengers: Secret Wars' arrives on December 17, 2027.
