WASHINGTON, D.C.: Nejwa Ali, a Department of Homeland Security official, has been placed on leave after she shared pro-Hamas content on social media, one of which read, “F**k Israel ... we are ready for your downfall.”

Ali was put on leave on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, after the department learned of her past stint working as an operative for the Palestine Liberation Organization and her more recent spate of pro-Hamas social media posts.

As per her LinkedIn, she began her full-time employment with DHS in January 2019 as an asylum officer, who adjudicated immigration benefits and conducted interviews with applicants, dependents, attorneys, and interpreters based on immigration laws and regulations.

In January 2023, her position was reverted to adjudication officer by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), a DHS division that handles the processing and decision-making of applications for citizenship, work permits, and asylum.

USCIC reflected on Ali’s recent pro-Hamas social media posts and said, "USCIS strongly condemns antisemitism and the use of violent rhetoric in any form.”

"USCIS employees are held to high ethical standards both on and off duty, including their presence on social media. Any violation of these standards is taken seriously by the agency,” added USCIS spokesperson Matthew Bourke in a statement to Newsweek.

Prior to being employed by DHS, Ali served as a public affairs officer for the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s delegation to the US in 2016 and 2017, according to Daily Mail.

The US listed the PLO as a designated terrorist organization in 1987.

Nejwa Ali’s concerning social media posts

The Daily Wire first uncovered years' worth of troubling posts from Ali, one of which showed her contempt for "Israeli and American privilege."

In one recent post, she shared a disturbing image featuring paragliders armed with AK-47s with the caption, "Free Palestine," glorifying Hamas’ deadly attack that killed over 1,400 people in Israel and left many gravely injured.

Ali asserted in one of her posts that all Israelis should be held accountable for their government's actions if they do not condemn Israel.

“Israeli, American privilege is disgusting. When Israelis acknowledge the government and military are solely responsible for the attack. Period,” she wrote, adding “I hold every Israeli accountable for their governments’ actions, IF they do not speak against Israel.”

On October 9, Ali also posted a video with the comment, "F*** Israel and any Jew that supports Israel," on Facebook under the title "How Nejwa wakes up."

Her post also featured a photo that declared, “A nation that has nothing but Allah has everything it will ever need,” alongside an antisemitic caricature of a Jewish nose.

When asked about her history, Ali responded angrily to a question from The Daily Wire.

'That's none of your f****** business. Mind your business before I call the police. If I were you I'd respectfully hang up the phone right now,' she reportedly told the outlet.
