Natasha Dach's viral antisemitic Instagram post
In her Instagram story, Dach expressed what many considered to be antisemitic views. Dach, who identified herself as having German roots, wrote, "You sneak into countries, steal people's lives, jobs, homes, streets, push them, bully them, torture them."
She went on to suggest that when people retaliate, it is labeled as terrorism, likely referencing the conflict involving Hamas on October 7, which resulted in casualties among Israeli soldiers and civilians.
Dach concluded her post by stating, "You are the only terrorists, and history will note that." Her comments drew severe backlash from the public.
Dach has since deleted her LinkedIn and Instagram accounts.
Apple removes Natasha Dach from employee directory
Following the public outcry, Apple has removed Dach from its employee directory. This decision came after her controversial social media post came to the attention of StopAntisemitism, an organization dedicated to combating antisemitism.
According to Liora Rez, executive director of StopAntisemitism, the group learned of Dach's termination through a confidential source within Apple, based in Cupertino, California. Apple has not yet commented on this matter, but it is clear that Dach's association with the company has been severed.
In addition to Dach's case, StopAntisemitism had previously highlighted another incident involving a Palestinian tech worker who had identified himself as an Apple software engineer.
This worker, Mohammed Tami, expressed strong views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on LinkedIn, which led to his post being flagged by StopAntisemitism.
Apple's internal challenges in wake of Israel-Hamas war
The controversy surrounding Dach and Tami is not the only issue Apple has faced in recent times. The company has grappled with internal challenges related to employees expressing their views on the Israel-Hamas conflict.
While Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, has remained largely silent on the matter, some tech workers within the company have openly shared their opinions.
This has led to management taking action, including shutting down internal Slack channels used by Muslim and Jewish employees, where discussions and protests related to the conflict were taking place.
