DUXBURY, MASSACHUSETTS: Lindsay Clancy has reportedly been arrested and charged for murdering her two children and severely injuring her baby son before attempting to end her own life. Clancy, 32, was charged with two counts of homicide and three counts of strangulation for killing her five-year-old daughter Cora and three-year-old son Dawson, Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J Cruz confirmed.

The horrific incident took place on Tuesday, January 24, around 6 pm when officers from the Plymouth Police Department were called to a Duxbury home. Upon their arrival, the officers discovered three children upstairs who were "unconscious, with obvious signs of trauma." The three children were rushed to a local hospital, where Cora and Dawson were pronounced dead. The third child, who managed to survive, was flown to Boston Children's Hospital where he is alive and undergoing treatment. Witnesses said that the baby had been given CPR at the scene.

Clancy, who is a nurse, was taken into custody on Wednesday, January 25 after authorities obtained an arrest warrant. they stated that she attempted to end her own life  by jumping off the window around 6 pm after she killed her children when no one was home. She is currently recovering in at a Boston hospital, where she worked as a nurse, but is in police custody. Cruz added that the male individual who called 911 was her husband Patrick.

Patrick reportedly arrived at their family home about 6 pm to find his wife had tried to harm herself. He saw his wife jumping out of the window and frantically called the police. Cruz reportedly said that authorities were currently questioning him about his whereabouts at the time of the incident and how long he had been at home.



 

However, not much has been revealed about Patrick. He and Clancy married in 2016 in Southington, Conn, according to an engagement announcement published in the Scituate Mariner newspaper. In 2018, the couple purchased their home at 47 Summer St for $500,000, according to Boston Globe. Reflecting on the incident, Patrick said he couldn’t believe she would ever try to murder her children and attempt to kill herself. It was also revealed that the mother was struggling with postpartum anxiety, but Patrick said that she was doing well the other day, according to Genius Celebs



 

The horrific incident has sent shockwaves through the close-knit town of Duxbury. "They were beautiful, beautiful children," Donna Jesse, the children's aunt, reportedly said. "It's pretty shocking," said Rita Musgrove, who claimed to be the children's great-grandmother. While leaving a roses outside the house—where other people had also dropped flowers—Jesse and Musgrove were reported to be visibly overwhelmed with emotion.
