AGOURA HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Lexi Young from 'The Bachelor' Season 28 is currently not dating anyone after voluntarily leaving the show.

She said her future with 'The Bachelor' star Joey Graziadei did not align. After her exit, she returned to her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. Lexi chose to exit 'The Bachelor' as she and Joey held divergent views on their future aspirations.

She expressed a desire for marriage and starting a family soon whereas Joey envisioned a longer timeline for these milestones. Their differing perspectives on their future led her to leave the show.

Lexi said, “In my head, it’s a two to three-year engagement, somewhere in that sense. I always imagined having a couple of years of marriage before I thought of settling down with kids".

She added. "I also want to enjoy the marriage before we bring someone else into it and try to make that final foundation".

Lexi expressed on the show that her life plans did not align with Joey's, citing differing opinions. She disclosed that she had frozen her eggs just before departing for 'The Bachelor' filming in 2023.

Following the group date in Montreal, Lexi, visibly emotional, pondered her choices. She decided to visit Joey in his hotel room to share her feelings and, during that conversation, informed him of her decision to leave the show.

“I know that you want more of a long engagement and you want, after this, to take some time before kids,” she told him.

She added, “That’s just not something that I have the privilege to do right now with my health situation. I look back on our one-on-one in Malta and I can sincerely say I felt so heard and respected and you made me feel like a whole person. I’ve never felt that way in a relationship before."

Lexi went on to say, "I hadn’t opened up to anyone else about my health and what having a family could look like to me. I will forever remember that conversation. But as someone who has infertility, I have to take that seriously as I date, knowing I’m in my 30s now. That’s just something that’s going to have to happen at a little bit of a faster pace for me. I think it’d be unfair to keep me here when I’m just on a different timeline".

What is Lexi’s illness on ‘The Bachelor’?

Lexi was diagnosed with endometriosis, a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. She shared her journey, revealing that she faced challenges due to being initially misdiagnosed.

She also expressed that she was repeatedly told her pain was psychological and linked to anxiety and depression. This misdiagnosis made her feel invalidated and led to doubts about the reality of her pain.

“After college, I moved out to San Francisco, and my symptoms escalated,” she said.

“I reached a point where I would faint at work due to the intensity of the pain. It became impossible to fulfill my job duties, and I attended multiple doctor appointments weekly in search of answers,” she added.

How did Joey respond to Lexi’s health condition?

Lexi revealed that Joey's response to her health issue was surprisingly sweet, especially compared to her past experiences with ex-partners who left her due to her inability to have children.

She had to explain to Joey what endometriosis was, as he had never heard of it. “It's a reproductive condition where tissue that's supposed to grow inside of your uterus grows on other organs," she told him.

Lexi also revealed that she and an ex-boyfriend broke up after she shared that she might not be able to have kids. "Joey's response was sweet," she added.
