LaKevia Jackson: Mother of Young Thug’s child shot dead after fight 'over bowling ball'

LaKevia, who shared a 14-year-old son with the rapper, had multiple wounds on her body

LaKevia Jackson, the mother of rapper Young Thug's 14-year-old kid, was shot dead outside an Atlanta bowling alley on Thursday 17, March. Tori Cooper, an Atlanta-based television reporter who spoke with the victim's mother, stated on Twitter that the 31-year-old attended her best friend's party at Metro Fun Center and got into a fight with another partygoer over a "bowling ball."

Cooper said in a subsequent tweet that the victim’s mother verified the victim had a kid named Kyvion Jackson with rapper Young Thug and that the youngster "isn't doing well" after his mother's murder. The suspect "stood in the parking lot for LaKevia for 20 minutes before shooting her as she was leaving," reported CBS local news. Metro Fun Center, a bowling alley in southwest Atlanta, is located along the Metropolitan Pkwy.

Tori Cooper wrote on Twitter, “Hard to believe that a woman who was just 3 years older than me was just shot and killed while attending a celebration at a bowling alley. Police say a fight over a bowling ball led to the deadly shooting. Tune in now. I have details on the evidence police say they have.” She further added, “Lakevia’s mother just told me that rapper Young Thug is the father of her 14-year-old grandson, Kyvion Jackson. They met before he was famous while they were both living in the same apt. complex. He grandson, “Isn’t doing well” she gave me this pic of him& Lakevia.”

Talking to CBS46, APD Homicide Commander Lt Ralph Woolfolk said, “This is truly an atrocity. A young lady has lost her life over a bowling ball.”

He further added, “We talk about conflict-resolution time and time again and this is an escalated dispute so we will work this case through the night and we will find the person responsible." He continued. “We know who are so go ahead and turn yourself in.”

LaKevia Jackson used FaceTime to show her mother a bunch of pals at the Metro Fun Center on Metropolitan Parkway in southwest Atlanta just before the incident. Sharina waved to everyone, including her daughter and her long-time acquaintances.

She had no idea she would get a second call, this time from her other daughter, 30 minutes later. Atlanta Metro Police stated Jackson had "several gunshot wounds," reported TMZ. “My older daughter was crying on the phone hysterically and I could hardly make sense of what she was saying,” Sharina Jackson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

She further added, “She was holding her.”

The suspect's name is unknown, and it is unclear whether any arrests have been made so far.

Rapper Young Thug has not commented on the incident, and his representatives have not responded to our queries. The victim’s mother commented on Jackson’s relationship with Young and said, “Before he was famous while they were both living in the same apt. complex,” Cooper shared in a tweet.

LaKevia was family-oriented and had an excellent connection with her son's father. Young Thug is the father of six children by four different women.
