Who is Judy Ann Prachyl? ‘Landman’ Season 2 finale delivers wholesome tribute to Taylor Sheridan fan
There is a reason why the 'Yellowstone' franchise, including its several offshoot shows, has garnered such admiration from audiences. The universe created by Taylor Sheridan is rooted in reality to an extent that it firmly believes in giving back to those who contributed to its growth and genesis. This was evident in the recently premiered finale episode of 'Landman' on Paramount+, which featured a heartfelt tribute to the late Judy Ann Prachyl, who passed away on December 18. This aligns with the show's ethical framework. 'Yellowstone' also previously paid tribute to Bob Avila following his passing last year.
While Prachyl wasn't associated with either 'Yellowstone' or 'Landman' in a crew member or artist capacity, her contribution to the show's success remains etched in golden letters. As The Mirror US described, Prachyl was a devoted admirer of the show and followed every season and episode. She also belonged to Weatherford, the same town in Texas, from where Sheridan and his wife, Nicole, belong. The obituary further described her as the "nursing home OG", highlighting the deep empathy and compassion that she exhibited throughout her life.
As is widely known, Sheridan is proud of his Texan heritage. He has also built his Bosque Ranch as a living example of his love for his community. In keeping with this, Prachyl was a true pillar of the same community. Her selfless dedication and service to the community touched countless lives. An online obituary mentioned that Prachyl worked in the administration wing at the Weatherford Independent School District.
The obituary further reads, " Judy was not only a cherished friend and sister, but was also a volunteer at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Her commitment to her faith and community was evident in her participation in church events and services. She was known for her vibrant personality and beautiful smile. Judy had a deep passion for watching the Texas Rangers Baseball games and enjoyed watching the Yellowstone series. These interests exemplified her zest for life and the joy she found in simple pleasures." The memorial also included, " The family would like to give a special heart-filled thanks to Nicole Sheridan, Traci Werne-Morrison, and Johnny Holt for the love and care they had for Judy during the last few years."
Elsewhere, the finale of 'Landman' Season 2 saw Billy Bob Thornton's Tommy Norris parting his ways with his former oil company, M-Tex, where he had been working as the acting president. After being fired by Demi Moore's Cami Miller, Norris is left with no choice but to kickstart an oil operation of his own. This would certainly play into the long-held audience expectation of seeing Norris venture out with his son, Cooper Norris, in an enterprise of their own, especially when Season 2 left us with a cliffhanger. Furthermore, Season 3 of the show has already been greenlit. All episodes of 'Landman' are exclusively available on Paramount+.
