Eldorado High School boy, 16, charged with attempted murder and sexually assaulting teacher over GRADES
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: A 16-year-old student named Jonathan Eluterio Martinez Garcia has been charged with attempted murder and sexual assault after getting violent and strangling his instructor in a disagreement over his grades last week, according to Las Vegas police. Officers were dispatched to a high school in the 1100 block of North Linn Lane at about 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a news release. While the school's name was not included in the press release, Clark County School District Superintendent Jesus Jara verified that the attack took place at the Eldorado High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.
According to police, the female instructor was admitted to the hospital and is currently being treated by medical staff for multiple injuries. She is claimed to be doing well.
Investigators discovered that the teen walked into the teacher's classroom to talk about his grades. At some point, the suspect became violent and began punching and strangling the victim until she passed out, police added. According to the NY Post, the student escaped and was subsequently apprehended by a coworker. He was taken into custody on accusations of attempted murder, sexual assault, battery with intent to commit sexual assault, first-degree abduction, and robbery, and later transferred to the Clark County Detention Center. Considering the suspect is a minor, his image is not yet released by the police.
