WASHINGTON DC: Jasmine Crockett, the Democratic representative from Texas' 30th congressional district, recently roasted the GOP for ignoring the criminal charges against Donald Trump and pushing towards getting Joe Biden impeached instead.

Crockett launched a scathing attack against Republicans while speaking during the first hearing of the House Oversight Committee's impeachment inquiry against Biden held on Thursday, September 28.

According to The Guardian, Crockett also asked key Democrat witness Michael J Gerhardt how many times GOP members of the inquiry said "if" when probing allegations against Biden.

"Honestly, if they would continue to say 'if' or 'Hunter' and we were playing a drinking game, I would be drunk by now," she mocked.

During her time as an undergraduate, Crockett reportedly planned to become an anesthesiologist or certified public accountant, as per Darling Magazine

The politician previously represented the 100th district in the Texas House of Representatives. After Eric Johnson vacated his seat in the Texas House to serve as mayor of Dallas in 2019, a special election was held for the remainder of his term.

While Lorraine Birabil won the election, Crockett announced she would challenge Birabil in the 2020 Democratic primary.

Crockett defeated Birabil in a primary runoff and advanced to the November 2020 general election, where she emerged victorious. The 42-year-old assumed office in January 2021.

Crockett declared her candidacy for Texas' 30th congressional district days after incumbent US Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson announced she would not seek reelection in 2022.

She won the general election on November 8, 2022, after edging out Jane Hope Hamilton in the runoff election. Crockett was chosen to be the 118th Congress's freshman class representative.

What did Jasmine Crockett say during Joe Biden's first impeachment hearing?

Crockett called out the GOP for ignoring the criminal evidence against Trump and pushing for Biden's impeachment.

"Because when you are talking about impeachment you are talking about high crimes or misdemeanors. And I can't seem to find the crime and honestly no one has testified of what crime they believe the President of the United States has committed," she said as seen in a video obtained by CNN

"But when we start talking about things that look like evidence, they want to act like they blind, they don't know this is. These are our national secrets looks like in the [extracted] to me. This looks like more evidence of our national secrets, say, on a stage at Mar-a-Lago," Crockett said about the evidence against Trump.

"When we're talking about somebody that's committed high crimes it's at least an indictments, let's say, 32 counts related to unauthorized retention of national security secrets, seven counts related to obstructing the investigation, three false statements, one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States, falsifying business records, conspiracy to defraud the United States..." she continued.

"Two counts related to efforts to obstruct the vote certification proceedings, one count of conspiracy to violate civil rights, 23 counts related to forgery or false documents, eight counts related to soliciting and I could go on because he's got 91 counts pending right now," Crockett pointed out.

"But I will tell you what the President has been guilty of. He has unfortunately been guilty of loving his child unconditionally and that is the only evidence they have brought forward. And honestly, I hope and pray my parents love me half as much as he loves his child," she said.

"Until they find some evidence, we need to get back to the people's work, which means keeping this government open so that people don't go hungry in the streets of the United States," she concluded.

According to Reuters, Republicans leading the  impeachment inquiry agaisnt Biden detailed foreign payments made to members of his family during the first hearing but did not provide evidence showing that the president personally benefited from it.
