Who is Ivey Lewis? Pregnant meth-addict mom from Washington charged with murder of 3-year-old son
TACOMA, WASHINGTON: A Washington mother has been charged with first-degree and second-degree murder of her 3-year-old son. The official documents revealed that Ivey Lewis, who is a meth user and reportedly pregnant, killed the young boy who had been in foster care until six months ago. The police were alerted on Sunday night and upon arrival found the boy to be ‘very stiff’ and with ‘no pulse.’
“On February 12, 2023, at 7.35 pm, officers responded to a third-hand report of an unresponsive child cold to the touch in an apartment in the 3200 block of South Mason Avenue. Upon arrival, officers were let into the apartment and led to the three-year-old male,” Tacoma Police Department said in a statement. It added, “Life-saving measures were immediately started but the child was declared deceased on scene.” The 25-year-old mother of two lives in the 3202, apartment complex, South Mason Avenue, Tacoma, called a friend over to help and the friend found the victim unresponsive in a bedroom.

'The victim’s face was discolored, bruised, and had obvious burn marks'
As per the affidavit, which was signed by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Lisa Wagner reveals that the responding police officers found the 3-year-old dead at the scene lying next to his surviving 1-year-old brother J.W. on a bed. It reads, “When officers got in the bedroom, they could see a young child, identified as three-year-old P.L., lying flat on his back with his knees slightly bent. They saw that he had multiple bruises on his face that appeared to be fresh. It also mentioned, “The victim’s face was discolored, bruised, and had obvious burn marks on the entirety of his face. Officers also observed cuts on the victim’s face,” according Law&Crime report.
J.W., 1-year-old surviving son in presently in police protection
In a police interview, the accused, who also goes by the name Divine Ry Chev, reportedly confessed that she previously hit the victim with a belt after she “caught him and a female child ‘cuddling’ together.” Lewis has also allegedly admitted that she is a meth user and is currently pregnant. As per authorities, “Detectives examined the victim’s body more closely and noted that the victim had obvious trauma to the front of his head, to include swelling above the eyebrows, possible bruising towards the crown of his head, and suspected blood around his mouth and nose area.” The court documents further said, “It was also noted there were several small marks on the victim’s chest, which appeared to coincide with an electronic shock device (taser) located on the kitchen table.”
The surviving 1-year-old son, J.W., is currently in protective custody, informed police officials.
