Who is Ibrahim Bharmal? Bill Ackman demands suspension of Harvard Law Review editor who accosted Jewish student
CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS: Ibrahim Bharmal is a Harvard Law Review editor, who was identified from a video where the pro-Palestinian group stopped one Jewish supporter.
In the viral video, the Jewish co-student is surrounded by the group during a demonstration after the October 7 surprise attack by Hamas against Israel.
Now, Harvard alum Bill Ackerman is demanding the suspension of the editor as a disciplinary step against Bharmal.
“How does this man remain Editor of the Harvard Law Review?” How are these students not immediately suspended? How does this not violate @Harvard’s code of conduct for students?” the billionaire hedge fund manager, wrote on X.

What was Ibrahim Bharmal's role in the pro-Palestinian event?
The raw video that went viral on social media shows a group of pro-Palestinian students holding traditional Arab headscarves while surrounding a student said to be Jewish.
“Shame, shame, shame!” the pro-Palestinian students are seen screaming as they obstruct the path of the student, who tries to move ahead.
At least 1,400 Israeli civilians and soldiers have died since the attack took place. Ackman has been vocal on social media supporting Israel and its right to defend itself.
The founder of Pershing Square Capital Management enlisted the support of at least a dozen other business executives who pledged not to take in Harvard students who are members of organizations that circulated a letter blaming Israel for Hamas's brutal action on civilians.
What did Ken Griffin say?
Ken Griffin, another hedge fund billionaire who graduated from Harvard, demanded that the school’s administrators forcefully condemn Hamas.
Griffin, the Citadel CEO who has donated some $500 million to Harvard, has pledged not to hire the leaders of student groups that signed onto an anti-Israel letter, as per NYP.
In another tweet, Ackerman said, “Thinking about it more, identifying this racist anonymous thug and giving the world an economic incentive to find him isn’t the answer.”
“We need to work toward a world without mindless hate. A world where someone will sit down with this kid, and give him perspective on his hate speech. Outing him will just increase the anger. Someone close to him that he respects needs to confront him and give him perspective.”
He also addressed the issue and social media’s role. “And AI is quickly beginning to destroy the ability to empirically identify the truth. @facebook, @instagram, @X, and, @tiktok_us need to fix the algorithms so that we are able to find common ground. And yes, TikTok should probably be banned. A foreign government should not be in control of the minds of our next generation of leaders. “
“If we don’t fix this soon, humanity is on a rapid path to oblivion, and it will be too late,” Ackerman concluded.
