Who is Houria Bouteldja? Yale speaker shocks after blaming Jews for Holocaust and hates 'white conscience'
NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT: Yale University hosted Houria Bouteldja, a speaker renowned for endorsing antisemitic ideologies and justifying the murder of Jews and Israelis on the second night of Passover. Bouteldja was invited to speak by Yale's flagship DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) program, 'Belonging at Yale'.
Bouteldja received support despite having expressed her hatred for Jews, Israel, and white people in public, according to DailyMail. She was invited to speak by the organization as part of a diversity and inclusion campaign. However, she appeared on Thursday, April 6, the second night of Passover, making it almost impossible for Jews to come, contest her assertions, and ask significant queries. In 2017, Bouteldja published a book titled 'Whites, Jews, and the US', which is unabashedly antisemitic and calls for the eradication of Israel.

'I hate the white good conscience'
Bouteldja preaches contempt for white people while blaming Jews for the Nazis' close call with annihilation, according to DailyMail. She describes white people as, "the one who subjugates, pillages, steals, rapes, commits genocide," and also proclaims, "I hate the white good conscience. I curse it."
Bouteldja holds Jews accountable for their near-extermination by the Nazis, claiming that they "tolerated Nazism before it was inflicted on them. They absolved it, shut their eyes to it, [and] legitimized it, because until then, it had been applied only to non-European peoples. They have cultivated that Nazism... [and hence] are responsible for it," according to DailyMail.
Past conflicts that Yale University got involved in
Yale is well renowned for its dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion as well as its attempts to combat racism on campus, and for this very reason, it inevitably becomes involved with various conflicts. The administration and students have previously been accused of constraining speech that differs from the school's view of DEI, according to DailyMail.
In 2021, a Yale law student who had used a lighthearted expression in an email was called before a diversity dean and threatened with having his bar entrance denied due to unfavorable suggestions, according to DailyMail. The student was called a racist despite having Native American ancestry.
A mob of more than 100 Yale law students attempted to disrupt a campus debate between a liberal atheist lawyer and a conservative Christian lawyer in 2022, according to DailyMail. Police had to lead the speakers out of the building on that particular occasion.
