According to reports from The Villages News, the target of Lemke's con agreed to meet her in Adamsville, which is located nearby and drove there. Joshua Timmons, 24, suddenly arrived as the man was exiting his vehicle and kept him inside the car.
While Timmons, who has a height of 6 feet and 1 inch, was holding the man in place, Lemke and another woman Lauren Locher, who is 20 years old, started searching the man's vehicle. The victim managed to break free from Timmons' hold, but the convicted criminal shot him in the back as he was fleeing away. The man's abdomen was the entry and exit point for the bullet.
As he writhed on the side of the road, the trio climbed into his 2008 Chevrolet Blazer and drove off in the direction of a residence in Wildwood located at 305 Terry St, where Timmons and Lemke were living. When police arrived, they saw Timmons trying to burn the clothes he was wearing during the alleged ambush.
According to the report from the sheriff's office, a search warrant was carried out at the residence, which resulted in the finding of a knife with blood on it, 55 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, digital scales, and baggies for "repackaging and distribution."
Timmons is being held on numerous accusations, one of which is attempted murder. At this time, he is still being detained without the possibility of a bond at the Sumter County Detention Center. As of Thursday afternoon, Locher was still being held in custody in the facility. She is accused of breaking into a home and stealing items. Lemke is free after posting a bond of $20,000. She is being accused of committing both robbery and burglary.
