Porn star Gigi Dior is now facing a lawsuit from luxury fashion house Christian Dior Couture. The adult entertainer had trademarked her stage name last year and now the the French fashion house claims that her use of 'Dior' in her stage name is damaging their business.

After Gigi Dior applied for the trademark last year, it was approved on September 20, 2022. She now uses this name on her personal website, her businesses, OnlyFans account, webcam work, as well as all social media accounts. As a result, the luxury brand from Paris has filed a legal claim, seeking the overturn of the trademark granted to her, reports Page Six

The lawsuit mentions, "All goods and services … are opposed, namely: Entertainment services … personal appearances by a porn star … providing a web site featuring non-downloadable adult-themed photographs and videos." They also opposed the usage of 'Dior' by the pornstar stating concerns of "Priority and likelihood of confusion, dilution by blurring and dilution by tarnishment."

In response, the adult star, best known for movies tagged "hot MILFs" told the outlet "This is ridiculous, my name has nothing to do with couture and — the funny part is — what I do usually involves wearing no clothes at all," before continuing, "I trademarked my stage name for entertainment and modeling purposes, I had to show proof of what I was using the name for, so I used appearances at exotica, and a website for confirmation … My request was granted."

She also mentioned, "A couple of weeks ago, on October 18, I received notice from Christian Dior Couture that they were appealing my trademark approval and they claim that the name Dior is being diluted and that I am diluting their products." The 40-year-old revealed that she had applied for the trademark to protect others from ripping off her brand. Now, changing it would have devastating consequences for her. "If I lose my name, I have built a brand around this name, it has become me and my reputation, so it’s really devastating to think I might have to start from scratch and rebrand everything. I have thousands and thousands of T-shirts, signs and photographs. I have retained websites, all of my social media. I’d have to start again, it’s going to be a huge undertaking if I lose this name." she said.  The porn star has until November 17 to present a written response to the suit filed by Christian Dior Couture. Failure to do so would lead to her trademark being overturned.
