Who is Edna Faye Daniels? South Carolina woman, 78, accused of helping grandson cover up murder
GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA: A grandmother from South Carolina was taken into custody after she allegedly helped her grandson, Ryan O’Neil Woodruff, hide the murder of a 19-year-old, according to authorities. Based on the evidence of covering up the murder committed in her home, Edna Faye Daniels was arrested Friday, January 27.
As per the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office's statement, the 78-year-old Georgetown native is currently held at the Georgetown County Detention Center. Daniels who currently awaits a bond hearing is being held on charges of accessory and obstruction of justice.

Who is Edna Faye Daniels?
Edna Faye Daniels, 78, was arrested on January 27, two days after her grandson Ryan O’Neil Woodruff, 29, was taken into custody after he shot and killed a teenager, TyQuez Demetrius Walker. The murder took place at Daniel's home situated at 135 Meadow St., according to WPDE.
She made false statements about the crime to the investigators after her grandson was detained at the scene. In a statement shared on Facebook, Sheriff Carter Weaver said, “There are consequences for lying to the police during a criminal investigation." The murder probe is ongoing.
Woodruff's double murder in May 2021
Daniels' grandson Woodruff was recently arrested for the shooting death that took place on January 24 at around 11.30 pm. Multiple witnesses heard the shooting that killed the teenager, Walker. After Woodruff's detainment at the scene and on further investigation, Daniels' was taken into custody for concealing the evidence of the homicide.
Charged and arrested with the murder of Debra Goins and Roger Woodruff Sr., Daniels' grandson was out on bond. The double murder took place in May 2021 in the Georgetown community's 118 Graham Road, according to ABC. The Sheriff's Office stated, "Deputies responded to 118 Graham Road in reference to two deceased individuals located by neighbors conducting a welfare check."
"The victims, Debra Goins and Roger Woodruff Sr. had been found with multiple blunt force trauma wounds to their heads," read the statement. The murder victims were Woodruff's relatives and authorities stated that they lived with the accused when they were murdered. Following the arrest, Woodruff was taken to the Williamsburg County Detention Center at the time for charges of attempted murder for another unrelated incident.
