MIAMI, FLORIDA: A NFL agent has found himself embroiled in controversy after he shared a video of pestering a shark. The Twitter video showed Drew Rosenhaus swimming in the sea before catching the animal’s tail from behind. He also posed for the video while being in the water with the shark.

Rosenhaus captioned the clip, “Went fishing with ⁦@cheetah ⁩today and decided to get up close to this Dusky Shark,” while referring to football wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Dr Chris Lowe, a marine biology professor, expressed his concern to USA Today over the disturbing incident. Lowe said, “When you grab a shark by the tail that way, they can literally do a circle, come back around, and that's how most fishermen are bit. We always say, it's cool to see them, don't chase them. Let them come to you if they're interested. And certainly, don't touch them."

‘What a maroon’

Soon after Rosenhaus released the video, people began commenting on the footage with a critic tweeting, “Why ppl feel the need to f*** with wild animals I’ll truly never understand.” The second one remarked, “And we wonder why they bite back.” The third one said, “Loser!” The fourth one suggested, “Have some respect.” The fifth one sarcastically asked, “Last I checked, you deal with athletes and their sponsorships. Correct?”

“Weird choice to willingly post a video of you torturing an animal,” a user commented. Another user said, “That poor shark is exhausted. If he hadn’t been hooked and fighting it for who knows how long, he has F’d you up good and proper. Kinda like arm wrestling a toddler. Wow. Impressive. 👎🏼”

“What the... why are you grabbing his tail? Not only is this an endangered, prohibited species, but you're literally harassing the animal…” a person stated. Another one added, “I take it Drew hasn't seen that video of the guy who was eaten by a tiger shark in the Red Sea last week. The splashing and fighting always attract any nearby sharks too. What a maroon.”
