LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'House of the Dragon' Season 2 will stream on HBO on June 16, 2024. The first season had some maverick and intriguing characters who created an ever-lasting impression on the audience. The second season will introduce a character who will eventually become a mainstay of the show.

Winterfell and House Stark have a special place in the hearts of 'Game of Thrones' fans who fell in love with the characters from the North and stayed in love with them for over a decade. The first season of 'House of the Dragon' was centered around King's Landing and Winterfell was missed by a lot of fans.

Fans will have their wish granted in the second season as Prince Jacaerys 'Jace' Velaryon (Harry Collett) travels to Winterfell to secure an alliance for the Black faction of the Targaryen house. A character in Winterfell will be introduced in this season and if George R R Martin's 'Fire and Blood' is to be believed, it will become a very important character in the future.

Lord Cregan Stark in Winterfell forms a friendship with Jacaerys. Cregan Stark shows Jace what is beyond the wall and makes him aware of the apparent dangers that exist in the North. This also affirms Aegon's dream of 'A Song of Ice and Fire' and brings the need for a protector of the realm as was prophesized in the dream.

Cregan Stark and Jace spend time hunting and talking together and swear an oath of brotherhood that commits Cregan Stark to the Blacks. Jacaerys who returns to King's Landing to be a part of the Dance of the Dragons gets killed ultimately in the Battle of Gullet due to a crossbow attack.

Cregan Stark becomes a very important character at the end of Dance of the Dragons. At the end of Dance of the Dragons, Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D' Arcy) gets killed at the hands of Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney).

As Aegon returns to rule in King's Landing, Cregan Stark gathers an army and marches to King's Landing and plays an important role in establishing Aegon III Targaryen as the King.

He spends a few days as the Hand of the King when he executes all of Aegon's enemies and ensures that the rule of Aegon III Targaryen happens smoothly.

The event is known as the Hour of the Wolf in George R R Martin's books. Cregan then returns to the North and serves Winterfell for a very long time.
