KKKelly: Who is Chester Doles? A look at his connection to Kelly Loeffler blasted for 'campaigning with Klansman'

Georgia Democratic Senate candidate Jon Ossoff made use of Fox News providing him with airtime to call out his Republican opponent Senator David Perdue as well as Senator Kelly Loeffler, who is running against Reverent Raphael Warnock. Ossoff is being lauded on Twitter for calling out Loeffler for "campaigning with a klansman". The "klansman" in question is Chester Doles, a White supremacist who spent decades in the Ku Klux Klan.
Ossoff was approached by Fox News reporter Peter Doocy, who wanted to ask Ossoff about his "relevant experience" when it came to delivering his promises as a senator. After Ossoff briefly spoke about working in journalism “fighting injustice, exposing war crimes, and corruption,” he turned his focus on Perdue and Loeffler. When Doocy asked him about Loeffler's attack on Warnock about a children's camp the latter used to lead, Ossoff responded, "Reverend Warnock addressed this issue a year ago, and here’s the bottom line: Kelly Loeffler has been campaigning with a klansman. Kelly Loeffler has been campaigning with a klansman." Ossoff reiterated the statement when he tweeted a video of the segment, writing, "FOX News walked up rolling live, and I appreciated the free air time! Also, Kelly Loeffler campaigned with a klansman."

Many took to Twitter to laud Ossoff's statements on Fox News. One user wrote, "This is how you push back against the media’s Republican talking points." Another tweeted, "The way he said 'Kelly Loeffler campaigned with a klansman' twice will be living in my mind rent free [sic]." A user responded, "'Kelly Loeffler has been campaigning with a Klansman' -- an incredible mic drop from Jon Ossoff."

Who is Chester Doles?
Chester Doles is a longtime White supremacist who is known for being allied to the Ku Klux Klan and the neo-Nazi National Alliance. In 1993, he was sentenced to prison for beating a Black man who police said was attacked because he was riding in a pickup truck with a White woman. He was sentenced to prison in Georgia in 2004 after being arrested in March 2004 when federal agents raided his home and found a dozen guns. At the time, federal agents stated that Doles served as a state leader for the National Alliance.
Doles reportedly has also been tied to other White supremacist groups including the Hammerskins, with whom he marched in the deadly United the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2017. Earlier this year, in September, Doles was removed from a rally by Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene. Loeffler was also featured in the rally in question, however, a spokesman for her campaign said the senator was unaware of Doles or the controversy over his attendance.
Kelly Loeffler's response to photo controversy
After Doles posted a photo of him posing with Loeffler during a campaign on December 13, a spokesperson for the senator issued a statement saying, "Kelly had no idea who that was, and if she had she would have kicked him out immediately because we condemn in the most vociferous terms everything that he stands for."
