Why did Brianna Pinnix go viral?
Earlier this week, a video of Pinnix screaming at a group of German tourists on a New Jersey Transit train went viral on social media. Shortly after, she was dubbed a "Karen" and fired from her high-profile job.
Pinnix, wearing a light green strappy top and a jeans, appeared to be drunk in the video and was seen turning on a group of young tourists, aggressively ranting at them.
She reportedly towered over the group and demanded to know what the passenger said to her, asking, "Are you German? What did you say? Tell me what you said."
Pinnix continued "Are you scared? Are you so f***ing scared of what you said to me?" before placing one of her hands on the headrest of a male German passenger's seat.
The Manhattan recruiter continued her tirade against the tourists and screamed saying, "Lets not let immigrants take up our country... how about you get the f**k out of our country?"
Amid her outburst, a male individual, presumed to be Pinnix's boyfriend could be seen attempting to calm her down.
At one point, the man interjected Pinnix's angry tirade and asked her to "breathe" before saying, "He’s not doing anything."
"Listen to me right now, OK. Do not do this, he did not say anything," he added. He further tried to explain, "He’s having a personal conversation with his buddies," but Pinnix remained unfazed by his words.
"F***ing immigrants," Pinnix could be heard yelling before the man warned, "Brie, don't do this. You could be arrested."
"Do not say that. I’m an immigrant. You know I’m an immigrant too, right?" the man could also be heard saying later in the video.
"I love you, but get off me," Pinnix could be heard telling the man while continuing her rant against the tourists.
"Stop this, or I’m never going to talk to you again," her partner said.
The German tourists reportedly appeared to take the incident in good humor.
However, one visibly annoyed male tourist could be seen getting out of his seat before calmly sitting back down moments later.
The reason behind the confrontation remains unknown but New Jersey Transit told the Daily Mail that the company "strongly condemns any behavior of this type"
The company also said customers are "encouraged to report incidents of this nature to train crew members, or they can reach out to NJ TRANSIT Police."
