LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Adreain Guillory will soon be featured in the new E series, "OMG Fashun," where he'll compete against other fashion designers for a cash prize of $10,000. Despite his talent and passion for fashion, Guillory has faced significant financial struggles throughout his career.

Financial difficulties have been a constant hurdle for Guillory as he navigated the competitive world of fashion. From funding his education to investing in materials and resources for his designs, the costs quickly added up. Without substantial financial backing or a stable income, Guillory often found himself struggling to make ends meet. "Trying to work your way up in a field that’s all about giving your all for the customer and the business to then, try and create your best and most thought-provoking work when you have no creative juices left, it’s hard," he told Voyage Chicago.

Additionally, the pressure to succeed in an industry known for its fierce competition and high stakes only intensified Guillory's financial stress. Balancing the pursuit of his creative vision with the practical demands of running a fashion business proved to be a daunting task, especially without adequate financial resources. "Even more so when you’re making a lot of money and that money is sustaining you personally and for school. I admire people who can handle the feat. I was in a push and pull and since I was in two demanding creative felids, one suffered," he added.

Despite these challenges, Guillory remained determined to pursue his passion for fashion design. The opportunity to compete on "OMG Fashun" presents a chance for Guillory to showcase his talent and potentially secure the financial support he needs to take his career to the next level.

Adreain Guillory is now the creative director for AJOVANG

Adreain Guillory has assumed the role of Creative Director for the Demi-Couture brand AJOVANG, where he spearheads the creation of whimsical fairytale-inspired designs for the everyday romantic. AJOVANG's ethos revolves around infusing a sense of easeful fantasy into its creations, offering a dreamlike escape for its wearers.

Guillory's creative vision extends beyond mere aesthetics; he sees fashion as a means of cultural resistance and expression, according to AJOVANG's bio. By delving into the past, present, and future, Guillory crafts garments that challenge conventional norms and celebrate individuality. He utilizes volume and shape to push boundaries and bridge the gap between representation and reality.

One of Guillory's primary objectives at AJOVANG is to amplify the Black experience through a fantastical lens. Through his designs, he aims to normalize the inclusion of people of color (POC) in the world of couture. By showcasing the beauty and richness of Black culture in his work, Guillory hopes to inspire younger generations of POC to pursue their dreams fearlessly.

What is 'OMG Fashun' all about?

In each episode of the show, three disruptors are challenged to create a groundbreaking fashion look inspired by the innovative ideas of Julia Fox. These disruptors are tasked with pushing the boundaries of traditional fashion by using unconventional materials and techniques that defy the norms of the industry. With limited time, they must race against the clock to design and style their unique ensembles for the judging panel.

The judging panel consists of Fox, Law Roach, and a guest judge with expertise in the fashion industry. Together, they evaluate each contestant's creation based on its creativity, originality, and ability to challenge established fashion standards. The contestant who produces the most eye-catching, unexpected, and cutting-edge look is declared the winner of the competition.

As a reward for their creativity and ingenuity, the winner of each week's challenge receives a cash prize of $10,000. Additionally, their winning garment is modeled by Fox, showcasing their talent to a wider audience.
