Who is Aaron McDonald? Sex offender out on parole allegedly rapes 9-year-old girl
FARMINGTON HILLS, MICHIGAN: A man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly kidnapped and raped a nine-year-old girl. Aaron McDonald of Oak Park was out on parole after serving 13 years behind bars for sexually assaulting two minors when he allegedly carried out the crime on Sunday evening on October 10.
McDonald allegedly lured the little girl into his 2016 Jeep Renegade at around 4.30 pm. The girl was walking near 8 Mile and Grand River at the time, Farmington Hills Police Chief Jeff King said during a press conference. He added that the victim did not know the accused, who “drove her to a parking lot in an unknown location. In the parking lot, McDonald attempted to sexually assault the girl. This amazing young girl realized the danger (and resisted her alleged attack.)”

After that, the 40-year-old man allegedly took the victim to an unoccupied house on Beaverland Street in Detroit, “where he assaulted, strangled and bound the victim.” However, the victim, whose identity has been concealed, showed bravery and escaped her alleged assaulter covering herself in a blanket. The child was reportedly wandering lost on the streets of Detroit on Sunday before a woman helped her and informed authorities, King noted, before mentioning: “Thank God for her.”
After the alleged crime was reported, investigators in Farmington Hills and Detroit, along with the FBI, started searching for the accused against whom at least 20 search warrants were executed. Detroit Police Chief James White said: “Our officers all worked tirelessly on this case, and I want to assure our community that once we ID'd this suspect, he was put on 24-hour surveillance.”
After being taken into custody, McDonald was pressed with three counts of first-degree sexual assault, and one count each of kidnapping, torture and assault with intent to do great bodily harm including strangulation in 47th District Court. Katherine Hom, McDonald's lawyer, said that her client has “gainfully employed, has two children and a third child on the way. I understand the seriousness of the crimes Mr. McDonald is accused of, but I ask for a monetary bond and GPS tether.”
But his bond plea was rejected by Magistrate Michael Sawicky and if found guilty, the accused can face life behind bars. Sawicky did not permit the request because of “the nature of the charges and the defendant's prior history. He was just discharged from parole on two (criminal sexual assault) offenses in May of this year.” Besides, Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said that though the man’s earlier conviction was in Wayne County, “I looked at the case file, and those sexual assaults also involved minors.”
County Prosecutor Karen McDonald also protested against granting him bail and added: “We have the defendant picking up a 9-year-old girl, enticing her into his vehicle, sexually assaulting her, holding her down so she could not leave, strangling her, tying her up... but for the tenacity, courage and bravery of this child, I'm not sure she'd be alive.”
In another incident that happened in July, a pregnant woman was raped inside a spa parlor. The accused — identified as Tyler Isaacs — was arrested in October and has been slapped with a first-degree rape charge.
