'The Night Agent,' which showcases the FBI agent Peter Sutherland investigating government conspiracies at the highest levels, has been a hit with viewers since it first debuted on Netflix on March 23, 2023. The first season was set in Washington, D.C., while the following season saw Peter travel to Bangkok briefly to help protect American interests from foreign and domestic adversaries. Following two action-packed seasons, the series returned with 10 brand new episodes on February 19. Gabriel Basso's Peter Sutherland travels to Istanbul for another high-stakes mission in Season 3, which promises to deliver plenty of action, drama, and thrill till the very end. To celebrate the Season 3 premiere, let's take a look at the prominent filming locations from the past three seasons of the spy thriller series.

The historic University of British Columbia in Vancouver poses as Georgetown University in Season 1 of 'The Night Agent'. Scenes featuring Peter protecting Maddie Redfield (Sarah Desjardins), the vice president's daughter, were filmed at the university. Furthermore, the school's chemistry building and the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre at the UBC Library were also featured in the series. Lastly, the library scenes from the show were captured inside the late 19th-century St. James Anglican Church, Vancouver's oldest Anglican church.

In the Netflix series, the famous presidential retreat in Maryland, Camp David, was filmed across five different locations in Vancouver, British Columbia - Joe Brown Park, Crease Clinic, Fairmeade Farm, Minnekhada Regional Park, and Riverview. Luciane Buchanan, who played Rose Larkin in the first two seasons of the show, told Tudum that it was a 'big, big production' and had 'so many moving parts' that made filming a difficult ordeal. Moreover, the cast and crew had to contend with nonstop rain while filming, and Basso recalled the experience, saying, "They shot the interiors of the helicopter there, but it was raining and the seats were soaked because there were leaks in the helicopter," in the same article. Another shooting location in British Columbia was the Fort Langley Airport, which stands in for Joint Base Andrews. It appears in the final moments of Season 1 when Peter bids farewell to Rose before taking off on a plane for his first official mission as the 'night agent.'

'The Night Agent' Season 2 kicked off in Thailand as Peter traveled to Bangkok for his first official mission. The first few episodes of the season captured the city's vibrancy and nightlife by filming on Yaowarat Road, and balanced it out with the serenity of historical locations like the Wat Pho temple and the golden statue of Phra Buddha Dhammakāya Thepmongkhon. Moreover, the hotel where Peter stayed with his night action partner, Alice Leeds (Brittany Snow), was filmed at a five-star hotel, the Sindhorn Kempinski, in central Bangkok. Showrunner Shawn Ryan described the appeal of Bangkok as he told Tudum, "I love just the look, especially at night, of these different neighborhoods and the vehicles that go by. These specific storefronts and the way that that city is so condensed. You go around one corner and there’s something completely different around another corner.”

After all the adrenaline-pumping action in Bangkok, Peter turns to the comfort of his apartment in New York City for some much-needed rest. The scenes depicting his apartment were filmed at 73 Monroe Street in Manhattan's Lower East Side. Ryan emphasized that filming on location helped 'make the scope of the show bigger.' He added, “We really were able to take advantage of filming in New York in a way that very few shows do. We’re out in the world and able to embrace it. You could feel there’s nothing fake about it at all." The Wynnfield Hotel's penthouse becomes the stage for the dramatic finale of Season 2, where Peter and Rose succeed in saving the city from the KX attack. However, the fictional hotel was recreated at the luxurious InterContinental New York Barclay Hotel in Midtown, Manhattan. Additionally, the plot of the second season involved the United Nations Headquarters. However, the shooting crew opted not to film at the actual location. Instead, the exterior and interior shots were filmed in the lobby of the Conrad New York Downtown Hilton hotel in lower Manhattan.

Istanbul, Turkey

'The Night Agent' Season 3 takes off in Istanbul, Turkey, as Peter zips through its downtown streets in search of the Treasury Agent Jay Batra, who escapes to the city with secret government intel. Among the historical locations the show's crew filmed at is the multi-purpose stadium, Tüpraş Stadyumu, which is home to the Beşiktaş football team. Moreover, the scenic beauty of the Bosporus Strait, one of Istanbul's iconic destinations, is also captured in the show's third chapter. Watch all episodes of 'The Night Agent' Season 3 on Netflix
