Where was ‘Age of Attraction’ filmed? A look at Netflix dating show's locations ahead of bombshell reunion
'Age of Attraction' does more than just come in with a stock-standard reality dating show concept. Netflix's enticing show introduces fans to hot folks of all ages, and the catch: no one is allowed to reveal their age to each other. This makes it quite a fun and refreshing format, defying age. The show's major talking point outside of who's falling for whom is its locations.
One prime location that comes as a surprise is Canada, with 'Age of Attraction' filmed across parts of Vancouver and Whistler. Show creator Jennifer O’Connell called the decision intentional about the filming spots. "There’s been a million dating shows on tropical islands, and I think we wanted to stand out a little bit, but also find a place that’s really beautiful," she said, per Deadline. “If you think about [where] someone of a certain age, you know, not 19 years old, wants to go on a nice retreat, we were trying to create a very high-end resort-type situation where you would really be able to enjoy nature and do lots of outdoorsy things. It was nice to shoot somewhere that you haven’t seen a million times on reality TV." A major portion has been filmed at Brew Creek Center — a luxury private retreat reserved for corporate events and posh getaways. The rural effect comes in the form of Pemberton village, northeast of Whistler. There have been a few unconventional dating spots in the form of a train wreck near Whistler, and local dating hangouts with more outdoorsy vibes.
O'Connell also spoke of the show's concept in the same interview with the outlet. "It’s real, it’s happening, and I think the culture is celebrating it differently. From a female gaze, we noticed more women openly talking about dating younger men. If anyone was going to tell a story about women and men dating outside their own age, we felt we would do a really good job with it. There have been a lot of shows out there where they label, especially women, as cougars or MILFs, and we didn’t want this show to be that."
While the finale ended earlier this week, ‘Age of Attraction’ has another bombshell surprise in store in the form of a ‘Age of Attraction: Reunion’. The standalone event sees couples who chose love on the show return to spill the tea on what life has been like without the camera lens, focusing on their relationships. The couples will reunite on April 1 at 4 p.m. PT/ 7 p.m. ET on Netflix.
