If one were to make a list of the best contemporary sitcoms that deliver a modern twist on the familiar television format, 'The Ms. Pat Show' would feature at the top spot. Going strong over four previous seasons, 'The Ms. Pat Show' on BET+ has created a dedicated base of admirers who have been eagerly looking forward to news about the upcoming fifth season. The wait is finally over, as BET+ recently announced that 'The Ms. Pat Show' Season 5 will air on January 7, 2026. The network has also released a teaser, which hints at the character arcs and incidents that would come to occupy center stage in the latest installment.

As per a Deadline report, the upcoming fifth season of the comedy series will be exclusively available on BET+. In the United States, the streaming platform offers two monthly subscription packages. The Essential plan with ads costs $5.99 per month, while the Premium plan, which is ad-free, costs $10.99 per month. Plans can be purchased either directly at the streamer's portal or via other options like Prime Video. 'Ms. Pat Show' is based on comedian Pat Williams-Lee's memoir 'Rabbit: The Autobiography of Ms. Pat', chronicling her own real-life experiences.

The protagonist of the sit-com is Ms. Pat in the eponymous role of a former drug dealer and convicted felon who has now settled down as a mother in suburbia. Much of the humour of the show is derived from the back-and-forth between multiple members of Ms. Pat's family, which spans across several generations. The show has been running so far with an R-rating and has been praised for its realistic portrayal of contemporary socio-political relations. The first four seasons addressed a wide spectrum of real-life issues, such as sexual abuse, addiction, and the aftermath of surviving a dysfunctional family.

As per TV Series Finale, BET+ issued an encouraging statement about the fifth season's plot, which read, "Season 5 continues that trend as the multi-dimensional Carson family tackles topics including scars left by absent parents, scars created by present parents, and following your dreams through all of it. In their wildest, most uproarious season yet, the Carsons discover that the only constant is change."

Apart from Ms. Pat herself, the fifth season will feature series regulars Vince Swann, Tami Roman, Williams-Lee, and J. Bernard Calloway reprising their roles. They would be joined by Briyana Guadalup and Theodore John Barne. Brittany Inge would be seen at several points throughout the show's newest season. The other actors and actresses showing up in guest roles include Tristan "Mack" Wilds, Raven-Symoné, Tisha Campbell, Sandra Caldwell, Loretta Devine, the vocal trio band, SWV, and Omeretta. Jordan E. Cooper and Ms. Pat have created the show and also serve as executive producers.
