Where is Casey Anthony now? Juror from trial of mom acquitted of murder of daughter, 2, regrets she walks free
An unnamed juror from Casey Anthony's 2011 trial has spoken out about his decision to acquit the accused murderer on all serious charges, saying the decision “haunts” him “to this day.” Anthony was indicted in the murder of her two-year-old daughter Caylee in 2008. The toddler was reported missing by her maternal grandmother, a month after she was last seen on June 16, 2008. The body was discovered in a trash bag in December.
The verdict was announced on July 5, 2011, and the jury acquitted Anthony of all charges. A month after the verdict was announced, the same juror called Anthony a "horrible person" and said prosecutors did not give enough evidence to convict the mother. "My decision haunts me to this day. I think now if I were to do it over again, I'd push harder to convict her of one of the lesser charges like aggravated manslaughter. At least that. Or child abuse," he told PEOPLE.

Where is Casey Anthony now?
In 2020, it was reported that Casey Anthony had filed documents to start a private investigation firm in South Florida. She filed the paperwork with the Florida Division of Corporations in December. The LLC, case research and consulting services had an effective date of January 1, according to state records. The address listed for the company belongs to Patrick McKenna who was the lead investigator on Anthony's defense team in her 2011 trial.
Anthony was acquitted of one count of first-degree murder, one count of aggravated manslaughter of a child, and one count of child abuse. But she was found guilty on four counts of providing false information to a law enforcement officer. She had told a detective investigating Caylee's disappearance that the baby was kidnapped by a nanny named Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez. Later on, it was determined that the toddler had no nanny and the person Anthony named had never met the child, or other members of her family or her friends.
The case inspired an investigative special on Reelz called 'Casey Anthony: Her Friends Speak'. One of her friends highlighted Anthony's attitude shortly after she was acquitted. "I sleep pretty good at night," she reportedly told her friend Clinton House who said it wasn't the response a mother who had lost her child would give. "If I was put on trial for killing my kid, and I was acquitted because I didn't do it, as soon as I walked out of those doors at the courthouse, I would be on a manhunt trying to find out who killed my kid. I wouldn't sleep again until I found out who killed my kid. That says everything you need to know," he said.
Despite all this, House maintains Anthony was a good mother and never got angry with her kid. "I even testified to that in the trial. That is what I saw with my own two eyes. I never saw her grab Caylee in any kind of abusive manner. I never saw her have to discipline Caylee because Caylee was such a well-behaved child… She just seemed like a good mom," he said.
