The first season of the ‘Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area’ has finally been released on Netflix and just like the original Spanish series, the show manages to create a perfect balance between style and substance. The show takes most of the elements from the original show and the storyline is pretty much similar. The Professor creates a team and makes a plan to rob the Korean Mint at the Joint Economic Area.

North Korea and South Korea are about to be unified and things are moving ahead nicely for all the top authorities but the common people continue to suffer. Over the course of six episodes, we get to know how the team manages to infiltrate the mint and take the money away. Part 1 of ‘Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area’ Season One is everything that people hoped it to be. It is filled with amazing performances and mixes the local flavors of Korea in an efficient way.

When will ‘Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area’ Season 1 Part 2 air and where can you watch it?

As of now, Netflix has not announced the release date for Part 2 of ‘Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area’ Season 1. However, the streaming platform has confirmed to us that Part 2 will be making its way to the streaming platform “later this year”. It will premiere on Netflix.

What is ‘Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area’ all about?

The Korean version depicts that Korea is about to be unified, which means North and South Korea will now be one country. During that process, both countries establish a Joint Security Area with a Unified Korea Mint, aiming to introduce a common currency for a stable joint economy. However, everything doesn't go as per the plan and there is a lot of corruption. The rich get richer, while the poor are still not able to have a better life. The Professor hatches a plan for an unprecedented heist and assembles a team that would be going against the joint task force.

As far as Part 2 is concerned, it will be all about the team trying to get out of the mint while the Professor tries to keep his identity a secret.

Who stars in the Netflix Korean series?

The entire team will be returning for Part 2, including the members of the joint force squad. Yoo ji-Tae will be reprising the role of Professor, while the ‘Squid Game’ fame Park Hae-soo will return to play the role of Berlin. On the other hand, Jun Jong-seo plays Tokyo.

Yoo ji-Tae

Tae is one of the most prominent names working in the South Korean industry right now and his credentials are a testament to his success in the field of acting. He has been a part of the industry for more than 20 years now and has worked in numerous high-end ventures such as ‘Ditto’, ‘Nightmare’, ‘Antarctic Journal’, ‘Running Wild’, ‘Traces of Love’, ‘Human Trust’, ‘The Good Wife’, and ‘Good Dog’.

Other actors to return for Part 2 include Kim Yunjin (Seon Woojin), Lee Won-jong (Moscow), Kim Ji-hun (Denver), Jang Yoon-ju (Nairobi), Lee Hyun-woo (Rio), Kim Ji-hoon (Helsinki), Lee Kyu-ho (Oslo), Park Myung-hoon (Cho Youngmin), Kim Sung-o (Cha Moohyuk), and Lee Joobeen (Yun Misun).

Who are the creators?

The series has been directed by Kim Hong-sun and written by Kim Hwan-chae and Choe Sung-jun. BH Entertainment and Zium Content are producers of the Korean series.

1) All the episodes of Part 1 are over 60 minutes, with Episodes 1, 2, and 4 crossing the 70-minute mark.

2) Although the song ‘Bella Ciao doesn’t feature in the show, the Professor’s café name is named ‘Café Bella Ciao’.
