Dark clouds are gathering across New York City's skyline in the sophomore season of 'Daredevil: Born Again'. In a time when the oppression of the newly elected mayor Wilson Fisk a.k.a. the Kingpin, has become so odious, there's no recourse left but to look forward to the return of the "Man Without Fear". This time, however, his solitary efforts might not suffice, and he must bring his own team together. With vigilantism having been outlawed and most of our beloved heroes consigned to Kingpin's private prisons, Murdock must unleash the big guns.

Following the successful reception of the debut season of 'Daredevil: Born Again' on Disney+, work on the second season had been moving forward steadily. And ahead of the second instalment's potential release in March 2026, Entertainment Weekly has brought out an exclusive sneak peek into the upcoming season. The photographs that herald the arrival of the next phase in Murdock's vigilante career show him conversing with Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones atop what seems to be a balcony or a rooftop in the city. Daredevil's uniform is noticeably riddled with red patches along the familiar black.

In addition to Ritter, Matthew Lillard and Lili Taylor will be making their 'Daredevil' debut as Mr. Charles and Governor Marge McCaffrey, respectively, as per ComicBookMovie. "Just by the nature of who Jessica is and who Matt is, they both give as much as they get," said Cox while speaking with Entertainment Weekly, "I'm not sure we were aware of it when we were shooting it. So we've been really waiting for this opportunity for so long now to put these two on screen together and have more fun with them."

The plot of the upcoming season remains a closely guarded secret. Nevertheless, the NYC-based private detective will certainly portray a guest role that would be similar to Jon Bernthal's Punisher in the debut season of the show. Marvel TV executive Brad Winderbaum explained, "We both talked about it being important to play some of the hits, as it were, make sure that we have that same dynamic. Tongue in cheek, take the p**s out of each other, but also get down to business and make sure that we're serving the story appropriately."

The mood and tonality of the second season would serve as a foil to the first one, opined Winderbaum. The city is in lockdown, and in the absence of vigilante heroes, Kingpin can wield his powers without any scruples. Thereafter, Daredevil must rise to the occasion to bring about a sense of justice. Winderbaum said, "Daredevil is a revolutionary in this season. He's a rebel, and it's fun to see him go up against the power of the city." Elsewhere, Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page will be seen in a prominent role throughout the upcoming season, while Elden Henson's Foggy Nelson will continue to haunt Murdock from beyond the grave. 'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 1 is available for streaming on Disney+.
