AUSTIN, TEXAS: The first podcast collaboration between Joe Rogan and Mike Tyson took place in Episode 1227 of 'The Joe Rogan Experience'. During the podcast, Rogan expressed his admiration for Tyson, and they delved into Tyson's perspective on watching boxing matches featuring the new generation of boxers. The podcast's conversation revolved around their different viewpoints about these up-and-coming fighters, and Tyson also shared insights on the strategies required to be successful in boxing.

Rogan is a well-known American personality recognized for his roles as a UFC color commentator, podcaster, comedian, actor, and former television presenter. With a substantial following of over 17 million on Instagram, he has garnered significant popularity. On the other hand, Mike Tyson, a former American professional boxer, boasts an impressive fan base of more than 21 million followers on Instagram. Often referred to as "Iron Mike," Tyson's reputation precedes him. Keep reading to know more about what the duo discussed.

Joe Rogan's take on new boxers

In the podcast collaboration of Rogan and Tyson, they started sharing their viewpoints on the new boxers. Earlier, when Tyson was competing, he had a different environment of boxing. And the boxers didn’t have the thought of having lucrative financial deals in front of them. This led to greater success despite Tyson being one of the highest earners during his time as a boxer. Nonetheless, this particular period has influenced the molding of a generation that could be seen as comparatively less formidable due to the differing circumstances and mindset. It is possible that as a result, the present generation lacks the same level of ferocity and ruthlessness exhibited by Tyson and his contemporaries.

During the interviews, Tyson frequently instilled fear in journalists, leading to his infamous reputation as the "baddest man on the planet.” Tyson said, “I always say these guys are so much nicer than I was. You know what I mean, these are cool guys, man.” Rogan replied, “Yeah right, there’s no one out there today that’s got that mean vicious persona anymore.” During the podcast, the duo recalled Tyson’s unforgettable fight against Marvin Frazier which is known for its level of violence. At the end of the interview,  Rogan stated, “I thought to myself if there was one person that would be the most terrifying person to be encountered with, it would be Tyson.”

‘I admire Mike so much’

The episode of the podcast featuring Tyson was an instant hit, and comments started pouring in instantly. One fan wrote, “Mike Tyson was and still is a huge source of inspiration for me. To come from nothing to become someone you hate, and to grow and learn to love yourself again.” Another wrote, “I admire Mike so much, the fact that his life and his own self have been so hard to conquer makes him seem so real, truly amazing.” “He's so badass he has ptsd about himself,” remarked one jokingly.
