'Grey's Anatomy', which is one of the longest-running shows in the history of television is back with its 19th season. In the first episode, the fans saw Meredith, (Ellen Pompeo) still functioning as the interim chief, sees Nick for the first time since she rejected his offer to move to Minnesota. Bailey tells Richard she is not ready to return to work, and Levi works up the courage to break disappointing news to Jo.

Although it is confirmed that Pompeo will be starring in only eight or nine episodes but she will do the voiceovers of all the episodes even if she is not starring in them. The show really completed a full circle as fans are claiming it is back to the original premise of the show when Meredith was a first-year intern and had gotten into Seattle Grace Hospital when Richard Webber was the Chief of Surgery and Bailey used to be their resident and was known as "the Nazi." However, times have changed now so here is all you need to know about when your favorite show streaming next.

Ellen Pompeo's role reduced in 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 19, upset fans say ‘just end it already’

In the second episode of season 19 of 'Grey's Anatomy' the viewers will see the attending surgeons and interns work together to solve a medical mystery when a college kid comes in with what first looks like food poisoning, but has escalating and dire complications, and Jo will be spending her day off with Bailey.

The new episode will come out on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 9 pm ET on ABC. But the question still stays intact, when will Bailey return?

The most surprising factor is that even after running for almost two decades the series' viewership has not been jolted. Its success catapulted many longtime series regulars including Pompeo, Dempsey, and Oh to worldwide recognition; they were among the top five highest-earning television actors in 2013. While the show's ratings may have fallen over the course of its run (it was once among the overall top-ten shows in the United States), it is still one of the highest-rated shows among the 18-49 demographic, and the #3 drama on all of broadcast television in the United States.

However, the premise of the new season is a group of talented and striving young interns has been recruited as the attending surgeons work to rebuild the program to its former glory. Will it return? It is too soon to tell but there is one good news for sure. According to Variety, "Kate Walsh is set to recur in the upcoming 19th season of 'Grey’s Anatomy,' returning as Dr Addison Montgomery, the character she’s played since the Season 1 finale of the medical drama in 2005."

The medical drama, 'Grey's Anatomy', which follows the personal and professional lives of the doctors at Seattle's Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital will be back on every Thursday at 9 pm ET.
