What to expect from 'Dr Pimple Popper' Season 9, Episode 1?
The synopsis of the premiere episode for this season reads: "Kenny was born with a rare condition that causes hundreds of lumps to grow all over his body; Ebonee covers the tiny bumps on her eyes with sunglasses; Paula's painful and swollen feet ooze a substance that emits a foul odor."
A preview clip released by TLC from the episode shows, Kenny meeting up with Dr Lee who learns about Gardner's syndrome. Gardner's syndrome (GS) is a genetic disorder characterized by intestinal polyps, multiple osteomas, and soft-tissue tumors. It can result in rows of teeth, and affect the retina, colon issues, skin findings, and many different kinds of skin bumps — predominantly epidermoid cysts. Dr Lee admits to Kenny that she has never seen someone with Gardner's syndrome.
Kenny shares that from age 8-18, he had more than 40–50 surgeries. A lot of it was getting rid of the tumors in visible areas. Before he turned 18 he had his final surgery which caused a health scare. 12 years later, he hasn't had another surgery in fear of something life-threatening occuring when the tumors are being removed.
Dr Lee takes a closer look at Kenny's bumps. She characterizes the bumps as cysts and lipomas. She asks Kenny if there are particularly any bumps that bother him. Kenny says he hates the ones on his face. But the question is, can Dr Lee help him find a solution?
