What is 'The Mother' about? Plot of Netflix's action-thriller explained
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘The Mother', directed by Niki Caro, is an upcoming action-thriller film, which will be released on Netflix on Friday, May 12, 2023, by Great Lakes Pictures ULC, Vertigo Entertainment, and Nuyorican Productions. The cast of the film includes Jennifer Lopez, Joseph Fiennes, Gael García Bernal, and Omari Hardwick.
Due to the pandemic, the shooting was halted on January 11, 2022. As filming began in March 2022, some unique shots were taken on various locations like the Spanish island of Gran Canaria, with the historic town of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria serving as the metropolis of Cuba. Gabinete Literario, which was close by was turned into a casino. The south of the island was also picked up as a location choice to shoot a villa party.
