What is ‘One Day as a Lion’ about? Plot of crime-drama explained
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Grindstone Entertainment Group has acquired the North American rights to 'One Day as a Lion', a crime drama about a father, Jackie Powers, who will go to any length to keep his son from continuing to follow in his footsteps into the criminal world.
'Ida Red' director John Swab will direct the film, which is inspired by the personal life of writer-actor Scott Caan, who also wrote the script of the movie, with Jeremy M. Rosen producing for his Roxwell Films label. The witty homage to Quentin Tarantino and The Coen Brothers is evident in the crime-thriller drama.

What is the plot of ‘One Day as a Lion’?
Jackie Powers is a doting father to a son who is a juvenile delinquent. Down on his luck and struggling to escape his previous life of crime, Powers is determined to keep his son from turning into a criminal too. Jackie accepts a job as a collector for local mobsters Dom Lorenzo and Pauly Russo.
After failing to collect from a local cowboy legend, Walter Boggs, Jackie Powers finds himself in a runaway situation with waitress turned hostage Lola and forms an agreement with her to pose as her fiancé in the anticipation of fulfilling the terms set by her terminally ill, serial divorcee mother, Valerie, to help fund Lola's new life and Jackie's son's criminal defense attorney.
The crime thriller is slated for release in theatres on April 7, 2023.
