LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Matty Healy has created an image of a politically conscientious pop star for himself and is often seen holding forth on varied issues of the day. However, The 1975 frontman's silence on the Israel-Hamas conflict has led fans to question him on the issue.

After being asked by a fan, Healy's response has stirred up the internet, leading to a flurry of reactions.

A user who goes by the handle @Media_Tak1 on Twitter, now referred to as X, said that it’s quite “surprising” that the 34-year-old musician is reluctant to comment on the conflict.

Fan questions Matty Healy's 'hesitation'

The X user continued by saying that Healy "actively spoke about LGBTQ rights, women rights, gender justice or climate change mitigation. Spoke against Islamophobia during Trump period."

The user cited Healy's remark, "You will make mistakes, you will hurt people, you will do things that some people will perceive as rotten. It's this standard that I'm trying to break down. I'm just a bloke, so are you".

"Then why this hesitation? Is this hesitation or frustration of not able to making changes or his dislike for #JeremyCorbyn who is pretty vocal on #GazaGenocide . Whatever it is - silen e during genocide when you can make a change is cowardice …" the fan asked in the post.
