LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The tale of the house located at 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, NY, has intrigued horror enthusiasts for a long time. What makes the story quite distinctive is the way it blends elements of horror with true crime. However, 'Amityville: An Origin Story' has decided to concentrate on the true crime aspect of the story. This aspect, in itself, is horrifying.

There have been several installments made about the Amityville haunting over the years, such as 'The Amityville Horror' (1979), 'Amityville II: The Possession' (1982), 'The Amityville Murders' (2018), and more. Each of these shows has its own unique cast. The latest installment of the franchise features Laura DiDio, Marvin Scott, and Christopher Quaratino in it. The story will be released on the streaming platform MGM+ as a limited documentary series on April 23, 2023.

What is the plot of 'Amityville: An Origin Story'?

'The Amityville Murders' gets its title from an incident that occurred in Amityville, New York, a Long Island town. It all started on November 13, 1974, in a house that bears a striking resemblance to the famous one from the movie. On that fateful night, Ronald J DeFeo Jr, who was 23 years old, used a rifle to brutally murder six members of his family as they slept in their beds. Among the victims were his parents, Ronald Sr and Louise, as well as his younger siblings, Dawn, Allison, Marc, and John.

The latest installment of the franchise titled 'Amityville: An Origin Story' delves into the backstory of the notoriously haunted house story and the Amityville murders. It aims to provide a comprehensive and in-depth exploration of every aspect of this complex narrative, which centers around the gruesome killing of a family of six.

The series sheds light on the paranormal controversies that overshadowed the horrific crime. Fans are definitely interested to see what 'Amityville: An Origin Story' has in store for them. The promise of new interviews and fresh archival material is certainly a plus.
