Spoilers for ‘Firefly Lane’ Season 2 Episode 13

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: This time around, we have to give plenty of credit to 'Firefly Lane' for bringing its viewers and fans one of the funniest moments in the entire series in an otherwise emotional season. 'Firefly Lane' majorly focuses on Kate Mularkey's (Sarah Chalke) battle with breast cancer and the toll it has taken on her and the other characters in the show. However, every now and then, there are a few giggles and smiles around the same to lighten up the heavy mood.

A minor subplot in 'Firefly Lane' Season 2, which was essentially a mishap, took everyone's minds off Kate's crippling condition and it was much needed. Netflix, the creators, and everyone involved in 'Firefly Lane' provided viewers with some great episodes throughout the series, but something about the hilarity of Episode 13 stands out!

The tale of Theo's testicles

Now this might seem a little weird, but if you have been watching 'Firefly Lane' Season 2, then the previous episodes very briefly spoke about Theo's (Oliver Rice) testicles when he ran into Kate after she married Johnny (Ben Lawson)*. Back then, it was brushed off as a one-time comment, but it definitely left everyone curious. Well, 'Firefly Lane' Season 2 Episode 13 solves this mystery when once again, Kate's character is stripped off the pedestal she has often been put on.

Turns out, Kate and Johnny did more than just share a kiss, they also slept together, which was supposed to be a "one last time" thing while she was engaged to Theo. Kate is devastated after sleeping with Johnny as she excuses herself for a moment and Johnny hops in the shower after they decide this can never happen again.

Meanwhile, Theo comes home and is excited to see his fiance when he hears the shower running. Being the romantic man that he is, Theo strips down to join Kate in the shower. The only problem was it wasn't Kate in the shower, it was Johnny. This took him completely by surprise as he backed away, falling right out of the shower, and terribly injuring himself. As the paramedics wheel him away, they make it clear that he's probably going to lose a testicle.

Goodbye Theo, hello Johnny

'Firefly Lane' Season 2 Episode 13 wasn't all about Theo's balls, but also about how Johnny finally confessed his love for Kate, ready to settle down. Frankly, Theo was only a catalyst to get them two together, and the poor guy lost a part of his body in the process. Johnny and Kate's turbulent relationship really has troubled everyone around them. Despite the giggles and laughs, viewers will be happy to know that moving forward, there's only one man for Kate and that's Johnny.

You can stream all episodes of 'Firefly Lane' Season 2 on Netflix from April 27, 2023.
