LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Netflix has been expanding its catalog this year with various different genres of movies be it Korean or Chinese. This time around Netflix has added an incredibly sweet love story to its already vast romantic comedy genre films. One such movie is  'Kiss, Kiss!' which is also known as 'Gorzko, Gorzko!'. It is ideally a Polish romantic comedy in which a womanizer, Tomek, decides to test his seductive abilities by pursuing Ola, who is about to marry a politician's son. The comedy movie features hilarious onscreen performances from several Polish actors and actresses, including Mateusz Kościukiewicz, Rafał Zawierucha, Zofia Domalik, Agnieszka Więdłocha, Edyta Olszówka, and Emilia Krakowska. The rom-com unfolds amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, which symbolizes the complicated personal lives of the protagonists, who navigate relationships in different interesting locations. The film has a total runtime of 97 minutes, and it is shot in Polish and English subtitles, and dub is available. Read more to find out more about the film.

The main character fails to shine

The movie opens by introducing the lead male character, Tomek, and he is instantly unlikeable. Not just because he is arrogant and brash but because he is straight-up a creep. Following a girl around, trying to hack into a security system to search for her address, or kissing her with no consent the moment he meets her are some of the instances which account for textbook harassment, and in no way is it charming. Tomek is not just poorly written, it is poorly executed as well. There was not a single pleasant aspect about him. More so, he was more fitting as a side character.

'Kiss, Kiss!' problematic plot lines

Furthermore, it tried extremely hard to be like one of the early 2000s romantic comedies, however, certain sub-plot is forcefully included to add subtext, whereas it adds nothing to the main plot or develops the characters in any way. The character sketches, plot line, and humor had no enhancement during the entirety of the 97 minutes. That is not all, the added twists and turns fail to make the script intriguing in the slightest. The only watchable bit about the movie is the second couple. Even though they have very limited screen time, their presence is rather enjoyable than the rest.
