MOSCOW, IDAHO: After a delayed arrest in Idaho murders case of Bryan Kohberger, several legit questions still remain unanswered. Among them is what led to an eight-hour delay between the crime taking place and call made to 911 by surviving roommates has left many experts clueless. But now as per a source, the reason is revealed as it claims to have spoken to a surviving member, Dylan Mortensen. Dylan, who wasn’t attacked by the alleged killer, thought that all the noises she heard were coming from the rooms above her due to their ongoing party.

Dylan also allegedly told the source that the suspect in the case she saw walking out was just a guest leaving the party and had no clue that the crime has taken place, as told by a source to NewsWeek. 'There's someone here'

As per affidavit filed by Brett Payne, a police officer who was among the first respondents at the crime scene, the survivors Dylan Mortensen and Bethany Funke, who are referred as BF and DM in government documents were inside the residence at the time of the homicides. The two students told law enforcement officers that they all came back from a night-out and were in their rooms by around 4 am. "D.M. stated she originally went to sleep in her bedroom on the southeast side of the second floor," Payne wrote. "D.M. stated she was awoken at approximately 4 am by what she stated sounded like Goncalves playing with her dog in one of the upstairs bedrooms, which were located on the third floor. A short time later, D.M. said she heard who she thought was Goncalves say something to the effect of 'there's someone here.'"

'Dylan Mortensen actually mistook the noises'

Payne mentioned in his affidavit, "D.M. stated she opened her door a second time when she heard what she thought was crying coming from Kernodle's room. D.M. then said she heard a male voice say something to the effect of 'it's ok, I'm going to help you.'" The source told NewsWeek, “ Dylan Mortensen 'actually mistook the noises’ thinking ‘that there were roommates horsing around, that perhaps all that noise that she was hearing was them being boisterous and still in party mode.’"
