Breonna Taylor protests are still underway all across America even after two Louisville police officers were shot during violent riots. On the third night, demonstrators gathered at 7 pm at William S Hart Park, located at 8341 De Longpre Avenue, near Sunset Boulevard, in West Hollywood, as per an NBC Los Angeles report. Reportedly, around 50 marchers were spotted going northbound on La Cienega Boulevard to join the rally at approximately 8 pm.

Moreover, a group of protesters gathered in front of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s West Hollywood Station. Anticipating the planned protest, cops from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department West Hollywood Station closed the intersections in Sunset Boulevard and Doheny Drive and Sunset and Havenhurst Drive. As per CBS Los Angeles, a pick-up truck that was playing music was towed away and the driver was temporarily detained at around 10 pm.

"Hollywood officers stopped that driver several blocks away, where he cooperated with officers and provided information. His vehicle had evidence of damage from the confrontation with protesters," police said as per NBC Los Angeles. "He was released pending the outcome of a hit-and-run investigation."

The incident soon sparked much unrest on social media. "The sheriffs are in West Hollywood and pulling people out of their cars and dragging them into the street. This is happening in your city @MayorOfLA. What the f**k are you going to do about it?" one tweet read and grabbed many eyeballs. Eric Michael Garcetti is the 42nd and current mayor of Los Angeles since 2013. However, West Hollywood has its own civic government headed by a five-member city council, including a mayor and a 'mayor pro tem' who serve one-year terms.

Soon, several Twitter users corrected him and said, "Sorry but West Hollywood isn't the city of LA. you sure you're from LA?" Another posted, "West Hollywood is surrounded by LA, but is a separate city, where the Mayor of Los Angeles has no jurisdiction. Call out the West Hollywood city government." Pointing out that Lindsey Horvath is the Mayor of West Hollywood, one wrote: "If it’s West Hollywood and these are sheriffs then @LindseyPHorvath would be the one to talk to."

Soon, Lindsey herself took notice of the matter and replied, "What is the intersection?" adding, "I would like the intersection to be identified." After the situation calmed down, she tweeted to the citizen to be "safe". "Protests have mostly died down, but some pedestrians are still out. Be careful out there, #WeHo," her tweet read.

Elected to the West Hollywood City Council on March 3, 2015, Lindsey Horvath previously served as a Councilmember (2009-2011), West Hollywood Transportation Commissioner (2011-2015), Los Angeles Unified School District Redistricting Commissioner (2011-2012), and on the Women’s Advisory Board (2007-2009), her bio reads. It also says "she has spearheaded policies to make West Hollywood an 'age-friendly community' to better serve residents of all ages."
