'Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition' Finale: Adams defeats Johnny leaving Bananas' fans upset
Six weeks and several cook-outs later, 'Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition' premiered its final episode today, June 14. 'The Bachelor' and 'Bachelor in Paradise' contestant Wells Adams ended up winning the competition. He managed to defeat finalist Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio. Johnny also appears on another reality show on MTV called 'The Challenge' and he holds the record for winning the show more times than any other contestant ever. After Adams won the finale, he jokingly added insult to Johnny's loss boasting about how he won against someone who wins every time.
Johnny looked crestfallen after the results were announced, a polar opposite of Adams who was grinning and basking in his winning glory. Both contestants started their journey on a choppy note. While Johnny caused a small fire on his work station in the very first episode and dunked his head in the fish tank in the kitchen, Adams' cooking skills too weren't up to the mark and the initial challenge was equally troublesome for both of them.
However, during the course of the show, both showed tremendous growth and were able to stand in the finale, eliminating impressive celebrity recruits Bridget Everett and Dave Coulier from the show. An hour before the show went on air, Adams and Johnny were live-tweeting from their respective accounts and with the results, it looks like the gloves were off. Bananas tweeted, "Hello 911? I'd like to report a robbery" #IdemandArecount #worstcooksinamerica@FoodNetwork @WellsAdams."
Commenting on his tweet were a couple of fans who also mirrored his thoughts and believed that he was robbed of the win. "Bananas should have won!! When will you people realize that Bananas should win everything?!!!!!" read a comment while another fan tweeted, "You deserved the win!! Indeed a robbery!!"
Dan Churchill, Jeff Mauro and Grace Mitchell were the guest judges in the episode and the ones who decided the winner. It was a blind tasting, meaning they didn't know which plate belonged to which chef while tasting but a fan thinks otherwise. "I think they already knew which plate belongs to each chef. They just didn't want the legendary Johnny Bananas to win another competition."
Then there was this comment, "You got robbed but look on the bright side - you won the day they considered you a celebrity." Who did you think deserved to win the show? Let us know in the comments.
