MOSCOW, IDAHO: The quadruple murders at the University of Idaho sent shockwaves across the nation and has dominated headlines for months. Keyboard detectives are parallelly working with the real investigators, who have arrested a suspect named Bryan Kohberger for the murders of Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, and Madison Mogen.
As the case is progressing, some web sleuths have begun to dig hard into the victims’ family members as well. More than a month ago, a Twitter user apparently claimed that Xana's mother, Cara Kernodle, faced drug charges after being arrested on November 19, days after the four students were killed in the early hours of November 13.

In a now-deleted tweet, the user reportedly shared, “Is anyone going to call out the fact that Xana Kernodle's mother, Cara, was arrested on Nov 19 on drug charges and is being held on 50k bond? That's a pretty stiff bond and happened so close to the death of Xana and the roommates not to be relevant.”
Another user supported them at the time and added, “There’s a history of charges going back several years. She also goes by a different name on social media. Confirmed that this is her Mom from a post showing her two daughters, one of whom is clearly X. Not sure there’s a connection, just another layer of sad.”

Now, adding a more shocking twist to Xana's mother's alleged arrest, a Twitter user has stated, “You’re not going to believe this: the lawyer for #CaraKernodle (#XanaKernodle’s Mom) for drug trafficking was Anne Taylor: #BryanKohberger’s lawyer. This case gets weirder by the minute.”

The same person also implied that “Xana’s Mom arrested when she went for the interview and she missed her court appearance on 12/14. #Idaho4 Why don’t people want [cops] in their house after a masked man enters and kills?” Moreover when a user asked, “Is this real? Can you explain more fully? This looks bad,” The web sleuth added, “Yes it’s real. 100% real.. She was arrested for her warrant when she went to talk to the about the murders and she missed her 12/14 court appearance.” Besides, another user stated, “Bryan Kohberger’s attorney filed a motion that recused herself from representing Xana Kernodle’s mother on her drug charges. Likely a conflict of interest.”

Walla Walla Union-Bulletin has confirmed it but without naming the parent. The report citing the court records said, “up until taking his case, Bryan Kohberger’s court-appointed public defender was actively representing a parent of one of the four Moscow stabbing victims her client is accused of killing.” However, the report also added that on January 5, Anne Taylor submitted an attorney withdrawal request in Kootenai County Court for the parent, who earlier faced legal punishment on unrelated misdemeanor charges.
