With a name like that, there really isn't much need for introduction for Showtime's upcoming thriller 'We Hunt Together', but the concept might still surprise you. It's almost as if 'Natural Born Killers' was made by neon and provocateur maestro Nicolas Winding-Refn. A young murderous couple and a couple of seasoned detectives trying to stop them from making their next kill — it's intense and gripping at the same time but our curiosity is piqued with how their worlds collide.

In its debut episode premiering next week on Showtime, the network teases "When former child soldier Baba rescues Freddy from a sexual assault, something dark is ignited in them. DS Lola Franks and DI Jackson Mendy investigate the murder of the pair's first victim." It is obvious Baba and Freddy are the pair of natural born killers. The way their lives become entangled is also gritty. But one look at the trailer will reveal just what we've been racking our brains with.

For further padding up, Showtime also lays down how "Freddy and Baba are a deadly duo, drawn together by violence and the dark past that haunts each of them." As a child soldier, one can imagine the ghosts haunting Baba. As for Freddy, her demeanor and snippets from the trailer suggest she is a sex worker, or an escort, and it is the murder of someone very close to her and Baba both, that brings Lola and Jackson together.

The trailer also lays down an interesting dynamic between the two police officers, as Lola is clearly the embittered workaholic, and Jackson is more of your general softie. "The two are new partners thrown together to catch the killers before they strike again," adds the synopsis and most likely, this is the same pair of killers that Baba and Freddy have embraced themselves to become.

So on one hand we have a young, leading couple killing people. On the other hand, the other couple on the show is invested in hunting them down. Perhaps that's what the name is all about — hunting couples in couples, get it? Everything about it looks stylish at least even if it does get confusing in the long run. 'We Hunt Together' premiers this Sunday at 10 pm ET/PT on Showtime.
