'Watchmen' Episode 9: As clock strikes 12 in finale, two main characters may die and one of them could be Agent Laurie Blake, here's why!

The promo of the finale also indicates that there will be a huge showdown between the Seventh Kavalry and Angela Abar after Dr Manhattan has been captured by 7K members.

Two people will die in 'Watchmen' finale episode and we know that because Dale Petey has said so in his memo titled 'Fogdancing'. The promo of the finale also indicates that there will be a huge showdown between the Seventh Kavalry (7K) and Angela Abar (Regina King) after Dr Manhattan aka Cal Abar (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) has been captured by 7K members.

Then, we have the post-credit scene in Episode 8, in which we see the many Mr Phillips (Tom Mison) and Ms Crookshanks (Sara Vickers) throw tomatoes at him after he refuses to stay behind in the Country Manor in Europa. Veidt is then imprisoned, and coincidentally, we see him reading a book called 'Fogdancing' while the Game Warden brings him the cake that Mr Phillips and Ms Crookshanks prepared for him always.

The post-credit scene also indicates that Mr Phillips and Ms Crookshanks, despite being betrayed may want their master to escape from the Manor. You see, buried inside the cake, Veidt finds a horseshoe hidden. How this will help him escape is something that the finale will shed light on. From the look of pure joy on his face when he saw the horseshoe, it is clear that he has great use for it.

Then coming to the promo, we first see Veidt inside the prison, look at his watch to see that the clock has struck 12. The doomsday clock seems to indicate that something big is set to occur soon and this could end up being the opportunity that Veidt uses to escape from the Manor in Europa. Then we also Lady Trieu get ready to orchestrate her plan, the plan that she came up with Will Reeves' help. We see her arrive at Veidt's fortress in Karnak. We also see Bian, a clone of Lady Trieu's mother launch something at the Millenium Clock Tower. The repercussion of turning the dial on an unknown machine is unclear, but it definitely spells bad news from 7K members. Of course, this could also result in a loss on Angela's side, especially if what Dr Manhattan said about the tragedy in their future holds true.

We also see Senator Joe Keene, lock himself up in a pod that is very similar to Looking Glass's safety bunk. Does this mean, the 7K is planning another psychic attack on the city of Tulsa or is it bigger than the squid attack that occurred in 1985? From the Peteypedia file, the incident that occurred on September 24, 2019, is being referred to as "the hail of destruction that rained down on Tulsa last night."

In the memo, titled 'Fogdancing', Agent Dale Petey wrote, "The morning after the calamity in Greenwood, the dust has settled but our nerves have not. Martial law remains in effect throughout the city as Haz-Mat teams continue to collect the remains of Unidentified Subjects #1 and #2 (the conspicuous absence of *********** and ***********) give us an indication as to the identities of the remains, but given their condition, DNA testing will be required) while the other corpses are intact and once removed from the wreckage, should be more readily identified. One of them may be Agent Blake. The names that were redacted in the file could belong to Lady Trieu, Will Reeves, Angela Abar, Looking Glass, or for that matter; Cal Abar.

The finale episode set to air on Sunday at 9 pm ET on HBO will tie in everything together, as it solves the puzzle. One of the most interesting of missing pieces the connection between Adrian Veidt's escape and Lady Trieu's plans in the present.
