BRENTWOOD, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 21 has reached its finale episode. The top 3 finalists competed against each other for one final time to impress viewers and earn enough votes to win the coveted title and the grand cash prize of $250,000.

Besides contestants, multiple celebrity singers and judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan also took to the stage to deliver stirring performances. However, Colin Stough got eliminated with his fellow competitors William 'lam' Tongi and Megan Danielle advanced Top 2. However, Colin's elimination came as a shock to many viewers and they shared their reactions on social media.

Colin Stough gets eliminated during 'American Idol' Season 21 Finale

Colin performed Chris Stapleton's hit 'Either Way'. The finalist went back to Amory, Mississippi in the recap video. Colin rode motorcycles with his grandfather and was also reunited with his horses. The contestant then visited his high school. Colin ended the night playing for fans at Hatley High School. Notably, a surviving member of Lynyrd Skynyrd takes the stage with Colin to sing 'Simple Plan.' Colin was accompanied by his guitar. Luke praised his performance, "You are so much better than I originally thought you were." Meanwhile, Lionel said, "That’s just a great job." Katy complimented, "I love what you just gave us." Katy called the song his "sweet pot."
