After Father Jun found out what his son Young Jun (Jason Tobin) and Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji) were up to, he decided to burn his son, Ah Sahm and Hong (Chen Tang) out of Hop Wei in 'Warrior' Season 2 Episode 7 titled ‘If You Wait By The River Long Enough’. Young Jun accepts his father's decision because he is sick and tired of having to bow and kneel to the Company of Six and the deal that Father Jun (Perry Yung) has going on with Mai Ling of Long Zii. Young Jun has had enough and so he gladly accepts when his father brings hot iron to burn off the mark on Young Jun's hand that had all this while indicated where his loyalty lied.

However, when Father Jun orders the other Hop Wei men to "dice the onion", who happens to be his son, Ah Sahm interferes. He throws the cash that he had won at the fight from Vega's sister Marisol and tells the other members of Hop Wei that they hadn't lost the money but had instead found a way to balance out the supply and demand. Considering how Mai Ling has been able to acquire molasses for half the price in comparison to Hop Wei's shipment from the Company of Six, Hop Wei is running at a loss and very soon, would also be run over by Mai Ling's tong.

By expressing hatred for Long Zii and Mai Ling, Ah Sahm manages to convince the other men of his tong to stand up to Father Jun and support Young Jun. Surprisingly, the more Father Jun and Young Jun talk, the more we realize that Young Jun may not be his father, but he is smart as a whip. He can figure out when his father tries to wheedle him into making a decision that he might later regret and is also aware of the huge role that Ah Sahm played in getting Young Jun the seat of power within the tong.

Father Jun, as a last-ditch resort, tries to convince his son that Ah Sahm may not be trustworthy and that the plan to take over from Father Jun had probably been in his friend's head for a bit. However, Young Jun refuses to budge. He also refuses to kill his father to add credibility to his leadership. He instead tells his father that he can do with some age-old wisdom waiting on the sidelines. This decision to not kill his father may be looked upon as weakness by others, but we see how Young Jun has managed to set the difference between him and his father as a leader apart from the get-go. This conversation with his father and the one that followed with Ah Sahm, both of them prove that Young Jun is not blind to Ah Sahm's intentions.

The night before the council meeting, Ah Sahm repeats to Young Jun what he had told everyone else before. That he is not aiming to take the seat of power, but that he is the boss', right-hand man. He tells Young Jun that he works for him, however, Young Jun mutters that sometimes it doesn't feel like it. Young Jun also iterates how the victory is really Ah Sahm's because he was the one who made the molasses deal happen. So he is definitely aware of Ah Sahm's hidden agenda. When the truth of Mai Ling being Ah Sahm's sister surfaces, Young Jun is definitely going to feel betrayed, despite this and how this will influence their relationship and Young Jun's hold over Hop Wei is something that we have to wait and see.

'Warrior' Season 2 episodes will be aired on Cinemax every Friday at 10 pm ET.
