It was a no-brainer that EPIX renewed 'War of the Worlds' for Season 3. The sci-fi hit series was one of the network's breakout shows in 2019 and was labeled one of the most 'compelling' shows by critics. Created and written by Howard Overman, and directed by Gilles Coulier and Richard Clark, the series is loosely based on HG Wells' 1898 novel of the same name. The thriller is set in present day England and France and follows a Martian invasion where alien creatures ruthlessly kill humans.
Midway through the finale episode of Season 1, it was established that this reimagining of the Wells classic needs another season or two. Quite simply because what the audience has seen is just the tip of the iceberg, and it's only in the final few minutes that they probably get a clue of what's really happening. Again, not an answer, but a clue. The same was with the second season with an element of time travel involved.
