Walmart's controversial 'cocaine Santa' sweater becomes Amazon bestseller days after supermarket took it off their site

The description for the sweater also appeared to make references to the drug: 'We all know how snow works' and how 'it's white, powdery, and the best snow comes straight from South America'

Days after Walmart removed a controversial sweater that showed Santa Claus doing cocaine from its website, the particular product has become a bestseller on Amazon.

Walmart had received widespread criticism earlier this week over the holiday-themed crew neck sweater which shows Santa holding a straw in front of three lines of what appears to be cocaine spread out in a table in front of him with the tagline 'Let it snow.'

The description for the sweater, listed on Walmart's website in Canada, also appeared to make references to the drug as it stated "we all know how snow works" and how "it's white, powdery, and the best snow comes straight from South America."

"That's bad news for jolly old St. Nick, who lives far away in the North Pole," it continued. "That's why Santa really likes to savor the moment when he gets his hands on some quality, grade A, Colombian snow. He packs it in perfect lines on his coffee table and then takes a big whiff to smell the high-quality aroma of snow."

Shortly after the backlash, the supermarket chain had pulled the sweater from its site, along with several other similar products showing the festive figure engaging in sexually explicit activities, and posing in sexually suggestive positions.

The retail giant, through its spokesperson, acknowledged that the sweaters "do not represent Walmart's values," and blamed a third-party seller for its listing.

Although the supermarket swiftly removed the sweaters, similar clothing remains available for sale on Amazon.

And now, reports state that the particular 'Let it snow' sweater has now become No. 1 best-selling in the Women’s Novelty Sweatshirt category. The product description lists the sweater as being "perfect for cozy days with your family," and has been receiving five-star reviews from customers, the Daily Mail reported.

"Nothing says ‘Christmas’ like Santa Snooters," a customer wrote in their review.

Although the product that was removed from the Walmart site was made by the clothing company FUN Wear, Amazon, on its site, took complete responsibility for the product.
