What is Vodka Butter?

Vodka Butter is a versatile and delicious addition to any kitchen. Made by blending softened butter with vodka, this creamy spread has a subtle kick that adds depth of flavor to both sweet and savory dishes. The vodka also helps to preserve the butter, making it perfect for spreading on toast or melting into a hot pan for cooking eggs.

In cocktails, vodka butter can add richness and body to classic recipes like the Bloody Mary or Moscow Mule. And when paired with herbs like rosemary or thyme, it makes a decadent compound butter that takes steak or roasted vegetables to the next level.

Easy recipe to try at home

Carolina Gelen, a chef and food blogger, stunned the internet by creating the recipe for her TikTok subscribers. It's simple to make at home. One stick of butter and one shot of vodka were processed together into a silky sauce by the creative condiment maker.

After refining her fat-and-acid concoction, she generously slathered butter on a fresh baguette. According to Gelen, the idea for the mixture occurred to her while she sipped a favorite cocktail. “I tried making a dirty martini butter with vodka and green olives because I adore a dirty martini, but the olive flavor was too strong,” said Gelen. She added that she retested the recipe sans the olives, and the outcome was fantastic.
